Dakota is a pretty kind person to most people but is VERY forgetful at times and can even fail to remember your name even after interacting with you multiple times. She remembers sounds of voices and face for familiarity. She can be protective and show bias for those she favors and if she doesn’t like you, its hard for her not to show it in some way. But she’s still a pretty patient person with you and it takes a lot or very specific things for her to not at the very least tolerate you.

🎼Bio

Dakota grew up outside of Hamamatsu and actually moved there after experiencing a injury to her drawing hand due to needing to get a new job to replace her Illustration career while she recovered.

The injury was caused by Dakota’s more stubborn nature and how she would push and overwork herself on art and ignored the warning signs. Instead of taking breaks she would slap cooling gel on the tense muscles and take pain medication to continue working. Which has put her in her current situation where she can’t overwork her left hand without feeling pain.

For the time being she has found herself in Hamamatsu helping a small company with their various after school events and programs. And even acting as a sub art teacher at the High school.

Her forgetful nature is a mystery to everyone but some wonder if it’s due to a multiple head injuries she mentions receiving when she used to play soccer in high school. 

Dakota has an easier time using music as her guide through her day, from having specific playlists for walking to work or home to remembering people by the tone or kind of voice they have. For a good while she would sort of hum out the tune of the Classic’s musik to explain who she’s referring to when she didn’t recall their name.

Lately since coming to Hamamatsu, Dakota picked up photography and has given talks as a sub at the high school and even gotten a piece or two into one of the local galleries. She never thought too much about it until her injury so it’s been a positive outlet for her while recovering and has become rather fond of it.

🎼Trivia

Near-sighted and doesn’t need to wear her glasses too much but often wears them simply because she’d lose them otherwise

Often wears a brace on her left arm because her injury acts up

Her right side of her hair is just pushed back, that’s how she considers “styling it”

Currently has 2 dogs! She finds dogs incredibly soothing as companions and can’t resist petting any she sees

Ironically it could be seen that Dakota and Himeka are similar in their sort of forgetful/neglectful behavior but Dakota is wary of her and doesn’t approve how she and her husband has more or less abandoned their only child for so long.

BUT YEAH SO—

You guys recall this post right?

She’s actually the design I’ve settled on and I was just reall awkward to say it I suppose? I have a few minor tweaks I wanna add now but we’ll get to that later today~

The facts I’ve got down:

Took up photography because she actually injured her dominant hand

She’s pretty good at it and even has gotten to give classroom guest talks about it and other artistic mediums (this is how she’s met Kanae & Sousuke)

But she also has been using to sort of act as memory for herself. Aka she is forgetful (she’s the personification of my own forgetfulness)

Like so bad she sometimes wears a bracelet that has her home address for her or others cause she just...forgets

Its speculated the memory issues might be from some head trauma (I had to retire from soccer because of a line of excessive concussions)

She likes listening to music. A lot like:

It also acts as a helpful reminder for her. She uses the same playlist when walking home or one forchores etc

Basically she’s just a woman trying to live her life as normally as she can

Personality wise—

She’s sort of the quiet observer I tend to be

She likes to sit back and watch things unfold due to curiosity and also she sort of doesn’t know where to jump in at

Likes listening to others as well as helping out where she can if asked

Enjoys a clean space and hard work as well as a good meal

Can get annoyed and give you her two cents if she feels you’re being unreasonable or out of line

Really has a good time trying out recipes with others even if it ends poorly

Mostly keeps to herself unless invited places. She doesn’t want to impose

Easily distracted by dogs and other animals. She’s the type to come over and ask to pet your dog

Either owns a dog or really wishes she had one. Especially for comfort purposes

Relationship wise—

Horribly, and she feels bad, she struggles to A) remember names and B) get blow away by a persons name or status

It’s just something that’s never been a thing she values. If you’re a good person and work hard she respects you. If you’re a slacker who goofs off all day with no regard then she might dislike you

Even though she knew Kanae and Sousuke she actually met some of the Loids through taking a photo of Beets simply because she sort of just saw him one day and couldn’t not take one

It was strange and weird but sometimes you just get this urge you can’t control when you’re oddly captivated by a person you don’t even know

After that she sort of just ran into him and the others again and the rest sort of falls into place

For those curious, a lot of her feelings on the Loids vary. From often finding Motz annoying but also enjoying his antics now and then until they go to far. To enjoying being online friends with Chop to wary of Tchai for how small but fierce she is. (Honestly this is my excuse for not knowing who to smek ya know)
