Little man has been a bit under the weather so off to the vet he goes...

He's brightened up a whole lot in the last few days, but he didn't eat for the best part of a day over the weekend, and just looked generally uncomfortable and...Not Right (first pic is when I realised something was wrong. He doesn't hold his wings like that, ever. Unless it's 40+°C, which it is most certainly not in GB right now).

When he did finally eat something, he spewed it back up later. He's eating perfectly fine again now, but is since passing undigested seeds, which is not at all a normal occurrence for him.

I'm hoping it's something simple like gi or crop irritation... Maybe he ate something he shouldn't have and it's just working its way through. Maybe even an early respiratory issue that antibiotics will resolve.

Regardless...boy-!!! Be healthy!!

Breakfast with Bibu.

Poor Bibu is not feeling well and had poo caked on her bum. So i brought her in for a butt soak. I'm worried she's not eating well so I'm offering her warm soaked pellets and scrambled egg to entice her to eat.

She actually spent most of the soak just calmly sitting there. I wasn't holding her there or anything! It must have felt good i guess.

Beltorze started having leg weakness on Monday in his right leg making it hard for him to climb. He was brought to the emergency avian vet. He had bloodwork (waiting on it) and is preemptively scheduled for an xray next week when results are back. A physical exam showed that he’s a good weight, healthy feathers, normal feces, and behaviorally functioning normally (eating, drinking, talking, preening). He was given a super low dose of pain medication but his symptoms aren’t resolving so it’s unlikely a sprain. According to the vet, this could very possibly be a result of the kidneys or a tumor compressing on his sciatic nerve, causing mobility issues in that leg. The blood tests will tell us more when they come in, followed by the xray. I rushed ordered on Amazon some wider perches and a large seagrass woven net to help him navigate his cage to prevent falling.

I love my little green man very much, the idea of something being wrong with his health has me in shambles. I’ve had him 11 years, so of course he’s starting to get older and let bird genetics aren’t always great. I’ll have more information in about a week. I posted my Venmo and cashapp in my profile if anyone wants to donate towards this, there’s no pressure there, but I’m assuming the vet bills won’t stop at the blood work and xrays.

Local bird got sick on Sick Bird Sunday

Been sick all week which explains my absence, hopefully will be posting soon as I have some updates for the upcoming holiday.

My baby bird Link is having seizures, we're taking him to the vet tomorrow unless his condition gets worse. I genuinely don't know what I'd do without him.

Of course I love Kai my other baby boy but me and Link have a special bond and I honestly don't think I'll be able to go on without him.

I'm a failure, severely mental I'll, not fit to go to school or have a job, I'm extremely suicidal and a lot more. Link was my anchor, he'd always come to me when I was sad. He was there when my friends were busy or my therapist appointments got cancelled.

I can barely function just thinking about the chance that he'd die.
