Urban Farms Detroit - my one gameplay accomplishment in an otherwise storyheavy save! It has at least one perfect specimen of every plant in the game (sans the Cottage Living mushrooms of which they still have to find all).

With the Villareal mob fighting over Jacques’ succession and CyberLife being close to getting liquidated, UFD is now the most powerful still capable of action faction in the city. 

Truth be told, there could be worse overlords than a job-creating biofood company, therefore Mayor Wayne immediately greenlighted the DPD’s mission to the rooftop farm. In fact, Josh told Captain Anderson to prioritize protecting UFD in these times.

Chris and Gavin split up the moment they left the elevator. Chris autonomously went inside the building, while Gavin was unerringly homing in on Sigstein, who had just spawned and not taken a single step so far.

Gavin (internally): Chasing a deviant android through veggie patches - there’s nothing Connor can do that I couldn’t do better! Just you wait, I’ll show you all how this is done! A-ha! There the stir crazy tincan is!

Sigstein: “You guys again.” *sighs* “The rocket ship has two seats, I guess. So what’s it going to be: Join me as my hostage or fishification on the spot?”

Gavin: “You’re hereby arrested for arson, hacking, disrupting the city’s peace, attempted murder of Amadeus Stern-Phillips and attempted theft of the UFD’s rocketship!”

Sigstein: “I’m almost tempted to really let you arrest me, just for the entertaniment value of listening to the DPD’s human supremacist as he’s being forced to read an android his rights.”

Anne: “Dolphins!”

Reese: “Leaving the raft for anything other than harvesting the fish trap and swimming around is minus five points!”

Anne: “But... dolphins!”

Reese: “And Sigstein already lost us five earlier!”

Anne: “Then our five are only making things even.”

Reese: *sighs*

Sigstein & Mowgli

“I better repair this before they think it was me. Or maybe it was me, somehow, remotely. With a failure of an android like me, one never knows.”

“Don’t drink from the puddle, that’s unhygienic! You shouldn’t even be in here, I mean, you’re unhygienic, too. And don’t look at me like that! I (probably) didn’t break the toilet!”

Caroline: “...and the bathroom to the left. You should start there.”

Sigstein: “I guess I can try...”

And with that it is already time to leave the white team.

Sigstein set up the fish trap one last time on the off chance that the game will fill it up with fourteen days worth of fishes while I go play team red and blue.

(Of course in-story their turns happen simultaneously.)

All the while Reese had tried to catch some zzzzzs. Half asleep, inspiration struck the woman...

Reese: “Are you a deviant or not, Sigstein?!”

...and then she slept, leaving the android to figure out the words’ meaning.

Deviants... in the 2040s the term first and foremost applied to androids that had broken free from their programming. But in the older sense the word referred to deviant behaviour of all kinds, not limited to robots. And Sigstein, despite being fiercely loyal to the company that had built him, was a deviant both in the old and in the new sense!

Sigstein: “I pranked the toilet. Now the next time one of us sits down on it, it will break, giving me the opportunity to repair it. Rinse, repeat. - Take a seat, please, Mrs. Leroy!”

Anne: “You do that! It was your idea!”

Sigstein: “It was Mrs. Thornton’s idea. And I have done my part, too. Only you haven’t contributed anything to the project so far.”

Anne: “Oh, shit!”

Sigstein: “Yes, that would do nicely.”

Anne: “I do not envy the TV team that has to relay all of this to the audience. If you see this, Nathan, and little Harry, please know that I love you very much and that I’m as sane as the next CyberLife employee.”

TV commentator: “Well, that statement explains a lot about the company!”

Mischief managed.

The toilet repair kickstarted Sigstein into learning more and more about plumbing. He added some easy upgrades to the sink, the toilet and the shower and in doing so also learned more about general handyness.

Now all that was missing to fix the vacuum cleaner were the three upgrade parts for electronics.

Ordering them online would be the fastest way, but requires saving up for a laptop, that in turn needs electricity. Or maybe they can buy some cheap stereos and take them apart for spare parts? We’ll see next week.

Anne: “Why are you systematically destroying the dew collector, Sigstein?!”

Sigstein: “I’m not! I only sabotage the valves.”

Anne: “Since you can say this so casually, I give you the benefit of doubt instead of tossing you off the raft immediately. So - explanation, please!”

Sigstein: “It’s quite simple. With all the dust and sand accumulating on the raft, we need to upgrade our dust buster to work off grid. That’s no task for beginners, but I currently have no Handyman app installed that could help us. And neither can I download one at the moment. So I thought I’d train my handyness by repairing the dew collector a few times in a row.”

Anne: “That sounds... surprisingly logical.”

Sigstein: “Thanks.”

A bit later:

Sigstein: “We have a slight problem. I do not seem to learn anything from my sabotage.”

(Those stupid water collectors do not add Handyness experience, probably because upgrading them also does not require that skill, only the materials. There goes that plan.)

Anne: “Ey, it’s okay. You made so many puddles that the deck will be shiny again soon!”

Sigstein: “About that... it won’t. The mop is only good for puddles. The sand sits too deep in the cracks. For that we need the vacuum cleaner.”

Anne: “That none of us can persuade to work off grid...”

Sigstein: “Yeah. We’re back to square one, I’m afraid.”
