its incredibly funny to me that arthur + the knights all want to protect merlin and fight to be his bodyguard when in fact, unknowingly to them, merlin is their bodyguard.

I mourn the fact that the knights were almost 24/7 in their armor cause their civilians clothes are so distinct with personality and so cool.

The knights love and hate Merlin coming to training. They love it because Merlin is their little cheerleader and they seem to perform better when Merlin is there to cheer them on. They hate it because he never cheers Arthur on and Arthur gets jealous and shows off to catch Merlin’s attention which means that Arthur performs better when Merlin is there which makes him a demon on the field. Which means the knights have to visit Gaius after training to get new bruise salves and that one time when Percival had to get his broken nose set because he ducked too late when Arthur was swinging the hilt of his sword down because he was exhausted from how hard Arthur was pushing them

Leon: Sorry to interrupt but I wondered if... Could I have a hug?

Arthur: Uhm... Okay?

Leon hugs Arthur tighly while muttering things like: You're doing so great Arthur! You're a good king and a good man. I am grateful to call you my friend. Thank you.

Arthur, trying to stop himself from crying: That is very kind thanks Leon

And then Gwaine, Lance, Elyan and Percy join them, all squeezing their king. Arthur hand pushes through the entangled bodies of the five knights around him and with a muffled voice he calls: Don't just stand there Merlin. Come on over.

Elyan: Would you rather fight a griffin or marry Merlin? Leon: Fight the griffin Percival: Griffin Lancelot: Probably the Griffin Merlin: Really guys?! Even you Lance? You've fought a griffin before, you know how dangerous they are. The idea of marrying me isn't that bad is it? Lancelot: That's not it at all. I just know I've got more chance surviving a fight with a griffin that I do surviving a pissed off Arthur for trying to marry you Gwaine: You're all cowards. I'd take on the royal ass if it meant I'd get to marry Merlin
