Mike had hidden it well, but Alastor and Katsuki’s death had hit him harder than he had given off.  Even though the “naive, heroic, selfless paragon of medieval heroism” was gone, having faded into his mind, he still couldn’t shake the feeling that he had failed to keep everyone safe, to make sure everyone got out.

To that end, he had decided to lay down somewhere he wouldn’t be found, hide, and cry.  He couldn’t do it in public, since Alastor, Katsurou, Katsuki, and even Ayato had more right to feel sad then he did. (That last part stunned him for a while)

He had decided to lay under Peach’s bed, assuming that A: She’d be snuggling with ‘Ohi-Nii~” and B: Ohito was way too nervous to come to her room, and she would be the one to come to his.  He didn’t care about their relationship, but he did hope it would create an empty room.

He simply walked through the open doorway, climbed under the bed, and started to cry, not caring who heard him and just hoping they wouldn’t initiate conversation.

Sir Michael had failed again.  Someone else had died, and he hadn’t been able to save her.  Some knight he was.  SHSL Failure should’ve been his title.  Who was he to ever think he could save people?  Every time he tried, people died because of HIM.

He simply lay face down on the floor, not moving or responding other than his chest shifting with his every breath.  He had been laying there, feeling like garbage, ever since the body had been announced.  He hadn’t even learned who had died (Knowing his luck, his best friend was dead, never to perform again.  Suba must be crushed.)  But he knew that he hadn’t been able to save them.

He continued to try and will himself into vanishing, to no avail.  And so he continued to lie in the center of the floor, silently and near motionless.  He had given up on everything.  He wasn’t angry anymore, he wasn’t depressed, he had lied his way through giving Peach a motivational speech... All he felt was grey.  Blank.  Nothing.
