there was a guy at my ski race today who was being intentionally transphobic within earshot of me literally at the start house (for those who don’t race, if ur in the start house ur a minute at most from starting your race) so he could fuck up my race. he messed with the wrong tranny tho cause tonight’s mission is to find his identity and make sure he faces repercussions for both transphobia and interfering with races (i wasn’t the only one he was making fun of)

i am so devastated for lindsey vonn and how her downhill race went today. i have so much admiration for her as a competitor, and have been rooting for her during this comeback so seeing it all end in a crash like this is just so unfortunate. she should be so proud, though. it’s a career i’ve been watching for as long as i can remember, and what she’s been able to achieve is aww-inspiring.

sending her all of my well wishes and good energy as she heads into treatment and recovery!! truly hoping the injuries aren’t as bad as they look, and she was already skiing on a ruptured acl as it is. sending my well wishes to nina ortlieb who also was airlifted out of the course. downhill can be so utterly brutal.

but, takeaway: i really need to start following the world cup circuit and that’s something i’ve been meaning to do for a while and luckily after this, they’ll be right back on the circuit!

having grown up close to this sport, i consider downhill to be one of those must watch winter olympics events!! absolutely insane what these women and men can do on a pair of race skis. i just look at them in admiration. the speed is incredible and the strength it requires is just insane.

the men’s downhill was stellar by the way!! that podium!! congrats to the swiss and italians (especially rooting for the italians since it’s a home olympics for them)! can’t wait to see the completion between the austrian and swiss teams over the next few years as those two seem to be at the top of the game on the men’s side.

cannot wait to watch mikaela!! she is absolutely incredible and her career has been amazing to watch over the years. i will glued to my tv.

I happen to live in a region with a lot of skiing tourism and literally every year some tourist dickheads think they know better than the staff living here their whole life. Not only that, but one of my former classmates lives even higher up on the mountains. She actually once lost her boyfriend because he was part of the avalanche rescue team. He died because some dipshits wanted an adrenaline kick!

So yeah, once again DON'T LEAVE MARKED SLOPES thank you
