THIS IS ME. No makeup. No filters/presets. No editing. Yes, I have some acne scarring. I have a little skin fold on my back because… I have skin lol. But damn it, don’t even TRY to tell me I’m not beautiful. Social media is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. We curate our lives into a bunch of pretty squares, and honestly… I have a love/hate relationship with that! (**I love pretty things and appreciate the effort and talent it takes to make beautiful pictures and fun captions!!) I just have to remind myself that all these little squares are tiny pieces of what’s ACTUALLY happening, and what that moment was ACTUALLY like! I get swept up in trying to be perfect and well-edited like everyone else. But it is sooo important to know that none of that stuff is necessary to find value in ourselves. Today, I got up early to work a double shift at the doggy day care, worked out on my lunch break, and I checked in with my fitness community and team in little power pockets throughout the day 🙌 No beaches and bikinis today… just busy building my own dream life right here!!! 👯🏋️♀️🐶🐶🐶 Find beauty in what makes you strong, what makes you different, and how you make this world a better place.
#NoToSkinShaming
Those people who have the skin of a baby is definitely blessed and lucky because there are no recurring problems with their skin that needed intervention. Many of those who suffered from acne and other skin problems are experiencing hormonal imbalances, health-related factors, and the like hence the skin condition. It is not always about hygiene or the products used. Sometimes even if you already used tons of products, there would still be zits on your face, as well as dry patches, allergies, and all sorts.
Perhaps we can try to respect other people’s condition especially if it is not entirely their choice to suffer on such. Not everyone can afford facial sessions and other skin products that could help.
To everyone on the internet: let’s show more compassion to people and what they post. Let’s know the difference between ‘hate’ and ‘constructive criticism.’ It pays to be kind, respectful, and to an extent ‘a bigger person.’ #skinshaming should not be tolerated. Let’s spread positivity about how we all look and more on what’s inside of all of us.
Your skin won’t define who you really are as a person and beauty is just skin deep. It is what inside your heart and your head that can make all the difference.
Choose love, choose happiness <3
Do you remember when we used to go to the gym and get on machines that hadn’t been disinfected since who knows when? 😷😷😷 #ThrowbackThursday But more importantly, do you remember that one quote: “I regret that workout!” -said no one ever 😏 It was so true, right? Working out would make you feel fit, healthy, happy, and strong! 🙌⚡️🦹♂️️ Most gyms are still not open (or are closing back up) but that doesn’t mean you can’t start getting back to that feeling!! There is a new program releasing soon and it’s ideal for those of us who want to get back to a fit lifestyle without going back to the gym. It’s all about losing fat by gaining muscle in 3 weeks of intense workouts. I’m in the VIP Test Group right now and I cannot get ENOUGH of this program!! It’s going to be exactly what we need to get those endorphins going and feel like OURSELVES again! Want a free workout to get back in the swing of things? Drop an emoji below! 👇👇
For the longest time, I thought I had to COUNT EVERY LITTLE THING in order to get healthy. 💔Count every calorie/macro/bite of food 💔Count every pound on the scale 💔Count every single rep while spending hours at the gym… no way I could afford a trainer to count for me!! 💔Count every time I “MESSED UP” on my diet and feel guilty af about it 🤦♀️ I realized that I couldn’t handle the counting any. freaking. more. I was stuck in an all-or-nothing mentality and it took reaching my heaviest weight to realize that I needed to try something DIFFERENT. My downfall was the belief that I had to sweat for hours in the gym and eat very little in order to “be on track.” I couldn’t have been more wrong, and the solution changed my entire life. Healing my relationship with food and my self-image has bought my freedom! It bought my sanity, budget (goodbye gym + gas + trainer budget $$$$$), and the most important?? My self-confidence. YA GIRL AIN’T COUNTING A DANG THING. Sound like something you need??? Let’s taco-bout it! (cause tacos. It brought me tacos back, too. 🌮🌮🌮)👇👇👏
SLEEP is so freaking important to our health. It improves our mood, regulates hormones, increases recovery, and helps us focus on what is important. (like…. dismantling white supremacy??? just a suggestion.) Here are just a FEW of my favorite ways to get more solid Zzzz’s! 😴Stick to the same schedule as closely as you can. Your body runs on an internal clock! (and that includes the weekends!) 😴 At least an hour before bedtime, no screens. The blue light tricks your brain into releasing “wake up” chemicals! (no scrolling TikTok in bed!!) 😴 A white noise machine!!! (GAME CHANGER!) You can download free apps on your phone, or tell Alexa to play white (or brown) noise for sleep. 😴Avoiding alcohol or sweets right before bed- the sugar will hit our system and wake us up in the middle of the night, or at least disturb the depth of sleep. 😴Keep the room cool (between 60-67 degrees), and the sheets soft! (Seriously, if you haven’t yet, invest in real grown-up sheets. They make a difference!) 😴 Last but not least: diffusing or applying high-quality essential oils like Lavender, Valerian and Frankincense at night time! (Just make sure you do your research and use high-quality oils!) Thoughts?? Is it naptime yet?
