QUTOM YARN? This #BacolodBabyBoy walked for several hours towards random places on my first day in Bacolodt yesterday so I knew I had to reward myself with some goodies from Tom N Toms Coffee. I’m not sure if this brand is local but I don’t see it in Manila so I’m going to assume that it is. I’m usually afraid of discovering things on my own but ya gotta learn how to traverse this life alone and enjoy the adventures you’re going to encounter so I went on a trip — in my favorite rocket ship, CHZ — and went to Bacolodt on a whim. I’ve never been here and I don’t know what to expect, really. But I’m thankful to those cuteys that sent a message with a list of several recommendations as to what to do, mostly places to eat at. Thankfully, my hotel has a 24/7 gym which I’d like to utilize even for just a short period of time. Glad to be able to reward myself with lots of rest and more discoveries in the next few days. 10/19. [📸] FUNNEL CAKE DREAMING. These thangs are the best to munch on a hot summer day when you’re casually strolling at a beach boulevard or frolicking at an amusement park. My sweet-tooth enjoyed every bit of this lovely treat. It’s filled with caramel syrup, strawberries, crushed oreos, powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream; and some whipped cream. SPECIALTY DYNASTY XIAO LONG BAO. These colorful little yums are so cute that we didn’t want to eat them, but we did. . The flavors consists of Signature Original (White), Szechuan (Red), Ginseng (Green), Foie Gras (Brown), Black Truffle (Black), Cheese (Yellow), Crab Roe (Orange) + Garlic (Gray). . But like, they all tasted the same. Haha. I tried the Black Truffle, Cheese and Garlic; while Gelo tried the Foie Gras, Crab Roe and Signature Original. I was expecting it to taste as labeled but not even a hint of such flavors existed. It still tasted like a pretty decent XIAO LONG BAO, just not flavored accordingly. Gelo did say the Crab Roe did have a faint bit of that crabby flave. . This was at the Paradise Dynasty restaurant in Podium. I was like, “Let’s not eat there. It looks expensive and pretentious.” But the price was pretty decent and it was actually really chill as we were the only ones there, as well. MANAM’S HOUSE CRISPY SISIG. This large serving of Manam’s signature dish will give you that crunch in every bite. I remember it being so savory that my mouth still waters as I write this caption. SCRAMBLE. This childhood staple is one of my faves even if this tasted fake AF. The pink slushy with marshmallows, chocolate syrup and milk powder is reminiscent of my childhood cos I'd usually buy some after school. Even though, my mum and great grandmum told me not to buy such cos it allegedly has shards of glass in it. TAWILIS. I’m not a fan of fish that stabs your mouth with its fish bones but if you can eat them and crush it with your teeth then I’m good. This is such a good pulutan especially since you get it for free when you order a bucket of flavored beer. I would usually drown it in their spicy and sweet vinegar.
