Finished embroidering skuntank on my jeans. The overall shape is a bit wonky though considering my method of getting the design onto fabric is eyeballing it and drawing with a thick washable marker which is extra hard when the fabric is dark (I'm aware of more true to original design ways of getting the design down but I don't have any of those supplies). I'm definitely starting to feel more confident about my fill stitch though.

This project was part of @poketcg-art 's Sinnoh redraw event. The card it's based off of is below the cut.

Name: Skuntank

Pronunciation: Skun-Tank

Etymology: Skunk + Tank

Type: Poison / Dark

Design Origins:

Skunky is based on a skunk, specifically a hog-nosed skunk, as well as a tank. Its appearance, as well as its foul-smelling nature, is similar to that of a honey badger. The way its tail sits on its head gives it a pompadour “hairstyle”. Its ability to learn Self-Destruct and Explosion, on top of it possessing the Aftermath ability, may reference gas bombs or how skunks release all their spray at once, as well as flatulence. Its tendency to shoot projectiles from its tail, as well as its ability to learn Flamethrower, invokes imagery of a tank.

continuing to chug along on skuntank, I wish I’d noticed the tail shape was wrong before I got this far but that’s the cost of trying to use purple washable marker on dark jeans to mark out the outline

I strongly suspect that fill stitch becomes one of those soothing repetitive things once you’ve got it nailed down. It’s still tricky for me, but this is the most fill stitch I’ve ever done on a project and I can feel myself improving
