Half out of body experiences / Sleep paralysis:

When I'm waking up, many times I can feel how I move my arms, but only see them as half transparent limbs while my real arms remain still with sleep paralysis. One time I could reach the light switch, but couldn't press it.

Sometimes I try to bring things from within dreams into the waking state while I'm still dreaming, or I wake up feeling I'm holding them either way. One time I had a lemon candy stick and I used my invisible arms, whatever they are, to feed it to myself. I could actually taste it and it was super tasty! But of course it vanished into nothingness because it was never really there. Overall they are fun experiences, although sometimes it feels a bit sad to feel the things vanish as I wake up and the paralysis finishes.

Sometimes I see or feel someone pulling me, and I really feel my body moving, at times see the half transparent version of my body again. These ones can be very scary. I believe these transition quickly into dreams. For example, one time eyes opened on the wall and I was pulled through one of the eyes, that's when I know it transitions into a dream.

MANY years ago in my teens, I had a character based off of Misdreavus and Yami Bakura. An entity from the Shadow Realm that had similar dark energy to the evil spirit in the millennium ring or... something like that lmao I don't fully remember. He was a shadowy shapeshifter that terrorized people in their sleep.

But over the years, his shadow-magic and his arrogant, sadistic wannabe-stage-villain personality basically morphed into Mikhail.

I thought of him again back in 2023, and decided to try to bring him back as a sleep paralysis demon, rather than just another Nightmare entity. He would travel from the Infernal plane and phase thru reflective surfaces (Mirrors, TV screens etc) to haunt people until they snapped out of their paralysis.

But I wasn't fully happy with the design, and had No idea what the fuck to do with his personality since I didn't want him to just, be another Mikhail or Rags. I'm not even sure if I want to keep his name as Yashiro.

Welp I thought of him again recently, and realized that I could base him off of a totally different character; one of my biggest comfort characters. Guess who :D

And now I've got a solid basis for his personality and background: Yashiro (new name possibly pending) acts very imposing, sinister and scary in the human world to intimidate his victims. In reality he's paranoid as fuck and constantly lives in fight-or-flight in the Infernal plane. He don't wikes it there. He sees humans as easy targets, and a way to project his own insecurities. He's pretty powerful on Earth but he's a small fry back in his own realm.

Over time he has a slight change of heart, realizing he doesn't really want to make people feel as scared for their life as he always does. He still enjoys scaring people, but he isn't super aggro with it the way some SP demons can be.

He'll mostly just phase into your room through a screen or mirror, show off his big ol pinhole peepers & teefs, stretch out his limbs over your bed like a giant spider monkey and hit you with spooky whispers and empty threats until you manage to snap out of it. The moment someone breaks free, he chickens out and scampers back to his world.

I also partially based him off of the sleep paralysis demon from "Don't Open Your Eyes", which threatens the player every now and then, but you can tell they're just lonely and horribly insecure.

He's very baffled to learn that there are some people (cough monsterfuckers cough) out there who are actually super into it, but he certainly doesn't argue :3 he finds it kind of flattering that humans want to know more about him without seeing him as just Evil Shadow Thing. Heaven forbids he learns that his target is ticklish x)

weirdest sleep paralysis of my life

(i just woke up and have horrible jet lag so bare with me here)

i’m staying in new york city rn, and in my hotel i’m sleeping on a couch since i share the room with my brother and sister. just right now i was trying to go to sleep at around 4 and i eventually did and let me tell you the dream i had rn.

so right when i slept, my dream is me with my family at a pizza place and we’re ordering pizza, soon i go off on my own and find my aunt and uncle just sitting there while my cousin is leaving, i went to go say hi and my uncle greeted me like how he usually does. there’s also a door right by them and it opens and i see someone that looks exactly like me, like a doppelganger of me, then someone that looks like this girl i dated a while back. i soon pinched my doppelgangers face and went to go tap the person that looked like my ex’s face and both didn’t react at all. i soon left the pizza place and went outside and found my ex (the real one not the identical looking one) walking out with the rest of my school friends. we both talk and suddenly my dream just blacks out. i don’t know what happened but everything just stopped, kinda like the wifi going out. soon my dream came back and i’m in this restroom thing? it kinda looked like an old map of freddy fazbears pizza so i assume i’m back in the pizza place. there’s this big hole in the wall and walking in the hole is this animal. it looks like a cat, but was making dog noises. stupid, i know. but it was a white or yellow cat, and while it was coming through the hole, i start calling it and petting it and it was barking, which makes me think the animal might’ve been a dog, but i can’t really remember. i’m calling the animal, petting it and it has the same bark as my dog that recently passed and the one i have right now that’s still alive. all of the sudden, i get this grief feeling. i start feeling nostalgic and miss my old dog that’s not alive anymore. i said in my dream that i miss him (my dead dog) and i ended up pinching my finger. soon, i can’t move. i can hardly speak and hardly do anything and i’m just stuck. sleep paralysis has been getting more and more common for me and i don’t know why. this is the weirdest one of all. i can’t move and i’m trying to scream and i eventually did. while this is happening, i feel like i’m floating. i feel like i’m being lifted up in the air, even though i can’t move my own body willingly. while this is happening, i’m also trying to open my eyes. i see my hotel room and it looks bright outside. i’m trying to force myself to wake up and at the very last moment, a child’s voice whispers in my ear saying “thank you”. then i woke up in a sweat and it’s 5 AM and the sun is barely coming up.

i don’t know what happened and i’m still taking it all in. why was i at a pizza place? why was my ex there? why was there someone that looked like me? why didn’t they react when i touched them? why did my dream black out? why did i feel like floating? why was there an animal and why did it sound like my dead dog? why did a little kid whisper me “thank you” when i woke up? who knows.

not making this shit up either. this happened right now. if anyone has explanations please tell me.

I have been having sleep paralysis and sleep hallucinations for the last three days and at this point I am so tired it's actually painful. All I want is restful sleep. Why is that too much to ask?
