A goodbye to the slenderverse and advice to new creators
Note: still gonna post slenderverse shit if that's why you followed. This is a separate thing.
I started my series is 2016. Its 2018 and itd be 2 years old today. That hasnt happened for reasons I'll address later. So after a year I had gained a 200 sub following. Nothing massive but nothing small in the scheme of the slenderverse and I was so proud that people wanted to watch my god awful shit videos. I'm so happy people interacted and did things with it to progress story, grew to like the asshole I portrayed. It was honestly a god awful attempt but I'm still happy it did what it did. Before it's end I had gotten permission to use the severance symbol in the final act which never happened, I formed a lore behind a new take on the slendermans abilities when it came to proxies, and I met a lot of people who had similar taste in scares. But all things end. An issue with a creator led me to delete everything. I wanted to restart, redo. Make something new. I had a new plan with new plot involving abilities that are a curse. But it hasn't happened. I've decided to grow from the slenderverse. Be new be something different. So this is my goodbye and thank you to the slenderverse. It gave me my start and kickstarted my creativity by playing with similar ideas. Im not going to create anything from a known mythos. I want something on its own to truly be free and make new things. I want to thank the slenderverse for giving me this chance to think and do new.
My advice now? If you want to be a slenderverse creator do it. As Evan Santiago says in his essay it's a place for everyone and its a good place to get started. As a content creator. Dont let anything hold you back from making your slenderman series. You have so much to work from from the slenderman himself. The seed eater. The rake. Or something else. Remember if you think your series is bad it's your foot in the door to creating and making something great for yourself and others. Be happy and take pride in what you do.
One final thank you from a former slenderverse creator. And keep making.
Not gonna lie. I took the yellow path. It lead me to think a lot about what I'm making and made me reAlize a lot about the media I'm doing.
Big changes may come and trust me when I say they will be for the best
No one is to ever say anything else about other people's Slendermen Mine is 99% duck tape 1% hope
Me and my friend (who don’t speak english) watch TribeTwelve:
