Sunday Snippet

"$!{player}, back towards the door." Zachariah's voice quickly tore my attention away from the sight. He was clearly trying to keep his tone neutral but there was something urgent in his voice.

I glanced to him but a resounding bang brought my attention back to the monster.

It had slammed its head against the glass. It pulled back and opened its mouth, only it did not stop where a jaw should have kept it. The mouth opened further and further, revealing rows upon rows of jagged teeth.

There are few things in this life that make Gordon Tracy nervous.

Alan jetting into outer space, despite his natural skill and training.

A silent comm.

Scott’s apparent lack of self-preservation.

But this rescue was making all his squid senses tingle as if he had been hit by a taser. And that made him nervous.

He’d been here once before, the only other rescue that had set off every one of his military-trained senses. That had been bad. He had lost Four. He almost lost himself.

Gordon shook himself. He had a job to do.

Why can't I have you?

I breathed in the fresh air as the sun embraced me with it's warm golden rays.

The heat of it felt familiar and it welcomed me with opened arms.

It has made me yearn for Dorne and its golden sands.

The spicy scent of blood oranges and its enticing sweetness.

The beautiful orange blossoms that only blooms in the hottest summer and not forgetting the water gardens with its clear crystal waters that sparkled all day and night.

It has made me yearn to return home with my children.

Where it is safe and familiar.

With Rhaegar enarmoured with the she-wolf, how could I not?

This castle no longer feels like home.

I closed my eyes as a memory pieced together like shattered glass.

He came to me.

In the dead of night, he sought me out.

He entered, with or without my permission and breathed.

"Elia".

I exhaled shakily when he held my face, his thumb caressing the bow of my lips.

I looked into his eyes and saw something that made my heart skip a beat.

Was it love?

I know I love him.

And that makes me hate him for it.

Wholeheartedly so.

Then the sun became undone by the sky.

I inhaled sharply when I saw her, standing by the marbled bridge that lead to the childrens solar.

She had her perfectly bowed lips apart as she breathed in and out, her chest moving in tune with each passing whisper.

The very sight of her has rendered me and my soul helpless, making my heart yearn in pain.

For what I did to her.

To the children.

.

I caused her so much hurt and pain.

So I try not to love her.

.

And yet, I find I cannot.

I yearn for her still.

Her long black curls escaped from its bindings and unfurled around her like an endless ocean.

Her sun kissed skin contrasted greatly against mines when I took hold of her dainty wrists and held them prisoner.

Her soft body beneath my own as I hushed her sweet lips into silence, my sinful need embedded deep within.

And then I heard my name.

"Rhaegar".

I clenched my hands till my knuckles bled through my pale skin when I held her tightly to me.

She wove a breathtaking tapestry that left me breathless.

Forever.

And the sky became clear as day when the sun soared beyond.

Hi Everyone! Happy belated New Year!

I am so sorry for not keeping my promise in updating. Things do tend to get in the way but this is a new year!

So I will be updating a snippet of a suprise pairing with our lovely Princess every Sunday (Fiji time).

I am so happy and grateful for all those who read and like my posts. You are the best!

She looked down at the crushed cigarette pack, and her hands started shaking as she took in the dried brownish blotches and streaks and remembered the fresh blood on her hands, bright red and hot and sticky, steaming in the cold air, running down her fingers and wrists as she held the woman close, waiting for her to breathe her last, but unwilling to leave her to die alone.

Sitting on another set of stairs now, she picked up one cigarette and remembered the last time she had seen a pack of this brand, in his hands, in Atlanta. Remembered him ripping it open, taking one out and lighting it furiously, holding it with his teeth as he spoke. Remembered his rage at the boy, Noah, for what he had done, his vengefulness that resulted in him being ready and willing to leave Noah behind to be ripped apart by the walker fighting its way through the blocked door. Only when she had appealed to his core self had he consented to save Noah and proceeded to lift the bookshelf off him so he could crawl out from under it.

At the time, while she had known what was going on inside him, she had been unable to fathom his wrath, unable to imagine an anger so limitless that allowing someone to die over it seemed like a viable option.

How well she understood now.

How she longed now for someone to bridle her anger, her rage, at what she had been forced to witness, at catching Morgan tying up instead of putting down one of the monsters that had come here to slaughter innocent and helpless people.

How she longed for someone to ease her grief over the lives that had been lost here today.

Over the shard of herself that defending those they had managed to save had cost her - another one, irreplaceably, irretrievably lost.

Somehow she knew that nobody else would understand as well as he would. So instead of seeking  out any of the others and attempt to find solace with them, she settled in for the wait, as she so often had, and hoped to whatever merciless god there might be that he would return.

Snippet #2

luca shook his head with a slight grin, knowing that he would have to spur james into action if any of this conversation was going to go anywhere. so luca stood, and as james looked up at him, luca extended his hand to james, who took is with a slight smile, and luca led them to the bed, where they both sat, still holding hands. "Alright james, I promise, as much of a thief and a spy and a ruffian, I am very good at handling sensitive information. so please, tell me what you can, and we can figure out the rest when the time comes." james smirked "If all I had to do was reveal my deep dark secrets to you to get you to be quiet, we would've had this conversation a long time ago."

James took a deep breath and tilted his head up to gaze at the ceiling. Luca kept his eyes on James, trying to seem open and inviting. "When I was 18, I joined the military. I was young and my father had always expected it of me. He served from the time he was 18 to when he was killed in the Boxer rebellion. He was so proud when I joined up... and of course I was seeking out praise from my father. I felt so wrong when I was younger, I just wanted my father to be proud of me." The butler pressed his lips together in a thin line, and let a joyless laugh escape. Luca bit his lip and waited for him to continue. "When I joined up, I made friends with another kid in my unit. Christ, we were kids. Hardly adults and    already signing up to fight. Anyway, Charlie and I- his name was Charlie, caused a lot of confusion with the  phonetic alphabet, never knew whether we were talking about him or the letter..." he smiled, then continued, "we ended up getting close. I don't know about him, but I was in love, I think." The gypsy's shoulders sagged, but he resolved to keep listening. "We got into a combat situation about 10 months in, and Charlie was shot, and, " James paused, and Luca moved closer, his shoulder brushing the butler's arm, "and after that I started to get really stupid. I drank, started smoking, I was always going AWOL and was constantly in trouble for reckless behavior in combat. I didn't care. Charlie was dead, and you know they say you fight for the guy next to you? I had no more reason to fight." James' voice broke and he rocked forward, turning his face to his shoes. " Eventually I was reckless enough times that I got shot. No lasting damage, but I was discharged early. I went straight home, no shower, nothing. Just the clothes on my back and a picture of Charlie. I had no where to go, spent all my money on liquor and cigarettes, and I had no reason to try to fix that." He paused, and looked at Luca with a tight smile. The gypsy gave a half smile back and squeezed his hands. "Sorry about this, I've only ever told Letta before.." Luca shook his head forcefully. "It's good to vent, you know?" James nodded, and said, "well, Letta found me wandering around one day. Suppose she takes a liking to the odd ones, or the ones that seem like they need her. She refused to leave me alone, and came with me to France. We both got hired on here, her for her experience and me for my sad look I presume. She still won't leave me alone."

Luca laughed a little. "She doesn't seem like the type to leave anyone alone." James shook his head. "No, you and I are stuck with her forever." Luca sobered up quickly. "So, do you still love him?" the butler shrugged. "I try not to think about it. He's dead, anyway, so what does it matter?" "Well a lot, because if you're still in love with him then you're probably hurting a lot, not being able to be with him!" James glanced at Luca and cracked a half smile. "I keep trying to move on. Just never got any closure, I suppose. It probably wouldn't have been forever anyway, we were silly kids. I just can't stop thinking, what if?" Luca took a deep breath and reached up gently to take the butler's face in his hands. "What if isn't an option. You got time with him, and it was great. And you loved him, and he would have been crazy to not love you back. But it's been what, five years?" James nodded slightly. "And this is still dictating your life. That is in no way healthy. Gypsies have a saying. Well, many sayings, many about wine and more about music. But this one is 'you can't see the future if you're focused on the past.' James, you're young, employed, RIDICULOUSLY handsome, and you have everything ahead of you. You said it yourself, you were just kids,"
