CLINGY adjective
1. tending to stay very close to someone (such as a parent) for emotional support, protection, etc.
Oscar is not a clingy person, he would not call himself clingy by any sense of the word. He supports himself just fine. He moved out of home at 14 for Christ's sake.
He just misses Lando sometimes.

Snippit of the fic I'm writing to recover from the horrors of recent events 🫶
His hand is on his phone, dialing Will from his contact before he can even process that he's done so.
He draws his knees up to his chest, curled into a little ball. Well, as little of a ball as he can. The arm curled around his knees is tight, it's almost like a hug.
With his phone up to his ear he can hear as the ringing goes on. For a brief, fleeting moment he thinks he could be okay with this. With the potential of Will on the other side of the phone. He isn't answering, but he also isn't hanging up.
The warmth of the phone on his face is so nice, he can't help but nuzzle it like a cat, sobbing weakly into the screen.
“Mack?”
He chokes on his breath, the silence heavy as Will waits for him to say something.
He doesn't sound mad that Mack's calling him so soon after their argument.
“Willy–” Mack whines, a sob cutting off the inevitable spiral he's going down.
“Mack?” He just sounds concerned now.
“I–” He hiccups, some sad sniffles making their way through the speaker as he tries to wipe his nose. “I really tried, Will. I promise, I really, really tried.” He sobs out.
“Hey, it's okay, Superstar. You're okay.” He's breathing hard, a bit panicky. But in the even way he gets Mack to do sometimes after bad games. Keeping his voice soft, “What did you try?”
“To walk!” He sobs, all wet with tears that have started back up again.
“Walk?”
“I can't–I couldn't–I tried so hard, Will. I promise. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.” He's choking on every word.
“Superstar it's–”
“I got lost!” He borderline wails, voice cracking in the middle.
It stuns Will to silence.
