The TVIT thoughts are thoughting
i must know every detail.
i love that with this AU, imagining the finer details is so much fun. Like think about it. Just how eerie snowy areas are at night.
how QUIET snow makes everything. like a blanket of soundproofing. everything’s quieter. softer. it’s also oddly light outside at the dead of night because the snow reflects the light of the moon. ARGH. good shit. i LOVE playing with settings so much.
but also think of the wind. it’s strong and piercing. the kind of wind that makes your eyes burn, your nose run, and your cheeks glow red. your ears feel like they’re about to fall off. your breathing is even heavier because the cold is so stressful on the body, plus the amount of effort it takes to walk through thick snow as well, it’s all a workout. Not to mention being lost on top of it? The winds pick up snow drifts and make the world hazy. You can’t tell what direction you’re even going in anymore, nor can you tell how far you’ve even gotten. But one things for certain, you’re leaving a footprint trail within the snow, an obvious sign of where you’ve been. So you must keep moving, despite your bodies protesting. You’re sweating despite it being freezing outside, but you can’t get rid of any of the body heat you have, lest the exposure to the elements finally do you in. Your mind wants to seek Safety. Warmth. Shelter. it’s all it can think about. Cold. Cold. It’s Cold. Everything hurts. Cold. But you must keep moving. Something is out here to Get You.
idk just rambling :)
After shoveling snow and walking around in my backyard near the woods at night, I feel like a snowy setting is really underutilized in analog horror. Other than like Winter of 83, I feel like we don't see a lot of snow. I don't know, there's something uniquely eerie to me about hearing the wind howling at the edge of the woods, the crunch of snow under your feet, how you can't see anything in front of you except silhouettes cast in the snow, the fact that in the morning you see the paw prints of critters long gone. It's all just perfect to me. Gimme a series about tracks in the snow of some otherworldly abomination or someone getting lost in the woods only to be buried alive by the snow!
