Even though I do know that song interpretation is a very subjective matter, I just wanted to know if you have already interpreted SNTY or not!

Especially the “You know it's deeper than the rain / It's deeper than the pain / When it's deep like DNA /Something they can't take away.” part.

Hi anon! Mmm, song interpretation is difficult. What makes me hesitant to connect the meaning of the song to Jk, is that he didn't write it himself. However, he did choose it.. so it at least has meaning to him.

I don't think the meaning of the song is that hard to find. It's about a couple going through hard situations together, but loving each other so much that they get through those things. They promise each other to stay together.

I think it definitely allows for a queer reading. Simply speaking, the song is about staying with your partner through thick and thin. There's a few sentences sticking out that imo apply more to queer couples than to straight couples.

When it's deep like dna - being queer is who you are, it's literally in your dna. So often being queer is looked upon as being a choice, when it is not. The reference to dna makes little sense to me in a straight relationship.... unless you'd want to be really cheesy.

they can't divide us - generally speaking there's not often a call to divide straight couples.

Now if I were to go Tkky on this... I'd say that the whole song applies to Tae and Jk. They were standing next to each other in the fire', they 'survived the test of time'. they 'can't be divided' etc...

To link it to "To find You"... I see that song as a promise. A promise to keep finding each other. I think Standing next to you is that promise being kept (if I were to go Tkky😁) .
