Sorry but this literally popped into my head: also I think jf i had my Olympics cancelled I’d have a mental breakdown 😅so how they portrayed Kerry in the movie after that, he’s way better at bad news than me lol.

Thinking about a situation where reader was supposed to go to the Olympics the same year as Kerry but, for gymnastics or something, she lived down the street from them so they knew her well, but unlike Kerry she stayed in Dallas to train. She has a sort of relationship with David so as soon as he hears about the Olympics situation he comforts her, and then Kerry comes home and they bond but David gets a tad jealous but she reassures him she only wants him. Im thinking the sport like Kerry is all she kind of knew /had going so she’s kind of having a panic session about life and now needing to find a job or go to school but David’s like it’s going to be okay and tells her not to rush into things because he’ll take care of her no matter what she does anyways.
