Hexxal Talks: S&G and LB&P
Happy Friday, my precious readers! I'm back and I'm going to talk about two products I found in the beauty aisle of my usual Walgreens while I was shopping around for some shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Now this blog isn't a professional review; it's more of an opinion piece based on my own.
The first brand I will be talking about today is one I had found completely by chance: Soap&Glory. I found their Righteous Butter Lotion after scouring through brands I've already used and found myself dissatisfied with. A little bit of background to what I mean: while I don't have any known skin allergies to anything in lotions, my skin is sensitive. I've used a variety of different lotions, even hypoallergenic ones, and my skin would always itch after applying it.
That changed for me upon finding S&G's lotion.
"This lush, yet surprisingly light hydrator, delivers the perfect level of moisture to dry skin. The rich, deep-sinking formula is made with shea and cocoa seed butters, sweet almond and rosehip seed oils, aloe vera, vitamin E, and a special seaweed-sourced active. This lotion goes on silky-never greasy, and swiftly replenishes moisture to dry elbows, knees, and feet."
My skin, after applying this miraculous elixir of a lotion, was so soft. It was as though no matter how much lotion I pump onto my hand to apply it to my body, it had the perfect level of moisturizing components to have my skin as soft as a newborn baby. The italicized description of this lotion was no joke; it doesn't go on greasy at all, which always bothered me with lotions before this one. It has been working wonders on my skin and I haven't bought any other lotion brand since.
Other S&G items I've been using:
"This luxurious facial wash smooths and purifies for super clean, fresh, and bright skin. With complexion-friendly, non-drying, easy-rinse ingredients including natural superfruit yuzu and ultra-soft skin polishing-beads, this high-tech foaming wash is a multitasking miracle. Fragranced with refreshing cool Chamomile and Mint with natural sage, eucalyptus and lemongrass oils. Benefits: Suitable for all skin types. Cleans and polishes skin. Brightens complexion."
This facial wash is to die for. I recently purchased a bottle of this and I've been using it twice a day, every day. You could feel the chamomile and mint working on your face as you lather a dollop of the facial wash on your skin. The plus side is that is smells soooooo good. My skin, even with the breakouts I get and the dark spots on my face, still brightens my complexion and gave my skin a healthy glow. When the label says it works for all skin types--I can say, with my sensitive skin, it definitely works!
"For a super-soft pout that stays put, slick on lipstick available in vibrantly scrumptious shades."
Sexy Mother Pucker, indeed. I'm not one to usually wear lipstick, especially with my complexion. As a Latina, my skin tone allows me to wear certain shades of colors from clothes to makeup. I always have to keep my skin in mind when choosing colors to wear (and I often wear black). I bought a nude shade of the Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick after using the lip gloss in a darker shade. I've never tried wearing makeup in nude shades, out of the possibility that nude would appear way too light for my complexion. By the miracle of the makeup gods, I found a nude shade that not only made my lips look pouty; the shades are as scrumptious as described.
"This powerful detox scrub is a one-stop solution for problem pores and clogging. With natural superfruit Yuzu, D-Clog Microderm-Mud, and a multifruit acid skin smoothing complex, this scrub helps to visibly refine pores, remove dead skin cells and impurities and leave skin clean, smooth, refreshed and revitalized. Fragranced with cool- refreshing mint."
More minty goodness coming your way! This two-minute detox scrub lives up to its name. I have problem pores like everyone else and I've used products that did not work for me. You can really feel this scrub working and your skin feels like it's breathing after being de-clogged. I've also used this twice a day and it feels amazing for my skin.
Now, for the next brand I use--and this one is for my hair.
Love Beauty And Planet is a hair-care line that I recently started using that aims to make our planet a little more beautiful. The Argan oil and lavender shampoo and conditioner were the first bottles I purchased and I love the way it makes my hair super soft and silky. While you can clearly smell the lavender, it isn't overpowering, which is such a plus for someone with a sensitive nose. As someone who cares about the state of our planet and wanting it to be beautiful, it's nice to know of a brand that is all about the earth while also helping out with hair.
The bottle pictured has held up for a full two months for me, someone who washes her hair every other day. The pump is also very easy, since I don't have to open or close a top if my hands are slippery.
I bought a dry shampoo of this brand as well, but have yet to use it.
Well, this concludes my blog for today! Have a fabulous weekend, my darlings!
