Katya Michailov x Sofia Modigliani (Goncharov, 1973)
Okay so no shade on THAT coat but can we have a moments appreciation for the absolute banger of a houndstooth cape Katya steps out of the car in the opening act? As they get to the cemetery and she's looking towards the trees and we don't know what's on her mind yet (spoilers, it's Sofia) but just ugh!
Anyway I pulled out my attempt from making it a few years ago and took some shots today in light of the Goncharov renaissance
And a shot of Sofia too. I tried to get the wig looking right but it wound up better without it. (How did Laura Antonelli look so luminous?)
when Iosef shot Sofia right as she was checking her watch and it hit the ground and stopped..... thus symbolizing her death..... and adding yet another instance of the recurring motif of not enough time.....
