“I can feel you breathing down my neck.” Madeline doesn’t move, eyes trained on the paper before her. She doesn’t need to look, Daniel had been staring at her for awhile now, apparently he had moved to look over her shoulder. Madeline doesn’t mind it, they’re both stressed. This project had gotten the best of them, and it doesn’t matter how perfect Daniel’s writing is or how eloquently Madeline can present, a lot was riding on this. For once, Madeline had contributed a hefty amount to this project, and as they were going over their work she couldn’t find any imperfections. She wasn’t worried, but, as time went on, the dread of failing had finally come over the both of them. “It looks fine.” Finally setting the paper down, bringing her fingers to her forehead, rubbing gently at her temples. “We deserve a break.”

He’s been sitting in the Music room for a bit now. Playing Beethoven’s Für Elise over and over again. Many years ago he had heard his friend play it first when he was in The Hospital. It sounded so beautiful and it impressed him so much that he had to learn it too. Ever since then he’s been playing Piano trying to perfect the craft. Though this one piece of music he was sort of obessed with. He asked Dan to come here so he could show him how much progress he had made with it...he wanted Salt to be proud of little Pepper.
You have all of one ask to completely shatter my character. Make it count: pre-Eddie middle school on an unbreakable timeloop
completely shatter my character.
Jeff Quince has been 11 for as long as he can remember. It has been 1979 for millennia. There is no past or present in this asbestos-tiled hellhole. Hawkins Middle School is his purgatory and he cannot remember the sin he committed to be sent to this place. Something is terribly, horribly wrong. Something is empty and worn away in his very soul.
Sometimes he sees a boy with cropped hair in baggy clothes, catches a whiff of nicotine and fried food and finds some familiarity, something to hold onto. He thinks he should know him. Thinks he has known him for an eternity. But the boy never turns, brown eyed never meet. Every morning, Jeff awakens to find himself waking through the front doors of the old school. Every afternoon it ends when he steps onto the bus. He cannot scream. He cannot change. He cannot speak.

“ oh, you were serious. okay. ” eddie had half expected it to be some kind of joke or something that led to another set up, even if this guy didn’t seem like the type. expect the unexpected. “ uh, rates. yeah. uh - we’ll figure it out. ” maybe he’d do it for free after all. it’d be nice to teach somebody, even if he couldn’t allow himself to say that out loud. “ i believe you. you could come by the trailer park later? i sometimes sit outside and play. ”
@softprelude asked: From 'Late Night Wanderings Sentence Starters': ❝ Do you know where I am? ❝
Trees, a small parking lot, and a playground with a red slide. It wasn’t that much to go off, and it could really be two places in town ... But she’d just have to take a chance. It had to be Washington Road. Already gathering her keys, the cord of the phone only stretched so far, so instead she took another moment to reassure the boy, even though her entire body was nearly dragging her towards the car.
“I think – Yeah. Yes, I know where that is. Okay, Daniel, just .. stay where you are. Get out of the phone booth and out of the streetlights, I’ll be there in a few minutes. Don’t worry, okay? It’s gonna be fine.”
