“But, don’t you think it’s a bit boring to do a job without anything to motivate you? Actually, a gratitude can motivate someone. And without it, there will be no motivation to do so.”
Quite a logic from someone with lethargic nature just like Asuha. For spending her time doing a job that actually brought misfortune to her, without being thanked, and it also costs her friend’s life, she felt that it’s kind of meaningless. All that she did is to protect the city because that’s her job. Being thanked by Chiba teenagers who fight on her side would make her pump up and did her job gratefully. Though, seems like adults don’t understand her.
Slight frustration and sadness were shown on her usually stoic expression. She kept saying that Tokyo has nothing to do with her, but to think that there are only four people instead of six--with the other one had to lock himself in his room after losing someone so important--in the Tri-City meeting room, it felt strange.
“So, even if that job costs someone’s life, although it kept people from being ambushed, would people still not being grateful? Isn’t that too rude?”
