So after a lot of poking around and reading through forums and reviews it looks like the problem actually is outright that the Steam version of Inquisition runs through EA’s Origin launcher, and that connection is not stable in any way, shape, or form. Apparently I’m very much not the only person dealing with this and most people are encouraging getting a refund, but like...it was $10 and I’m sure they’ll fix this eventually. Everything I have is up to date and set up good ‘n’ proper so I know the problem isn’t on my end.
