The thing is about being a solo artist is you’re overthinking every lyric, every melody, everything [...] That’s a difficult one as well because there’s also something to be said about what’s been written, in the room, on the day. Sometimes there’s a bit of magic in the room and you just—and that’s another thing, it’s very easy to be overanalytical with the words that you’ve chosen, but actually, there’s something to be said about just owning what you did in the room on that day.

Songwriting Process/Project Update

I'm finalising my brainstorming (this is a lie, I did this 2 weeks ago) and I just thought I'd share my process.

I've split the two main themes of my album so I can identify the ideas of both concepts and contrast/compare them

With this I identified the common pitches, tempos and vibes they use as well as the genres you often find them in. I identified the keys I should use for them using my own key emotion/vibe guide (I might post).

Usually for private projects I do little to no planning, but I want to actually finish something for the first time in my nearly 18 years of project abandonment.

Next (I'm so tired please end me) I brain vomited all the feelings, objects and colours I associated with each concept and then identified common themes for them.

As you can see, I have the shared elements in the middle. At this point though I'm planning on making my music with contrasting components instead of similar blah blah blah I'm so tired I hate highschool.
