I just like movies I don’t really have the words to elucidate it any more than that.
the ep 4 table read just breaks my heart now. in so many different ways. but i think the thing i hate most about the script is that when Mike walks away in the field scene, and the script says "it's a small moment, but it makes Will red with embarrassment. He feels stupid." Will felt stupid. The Duffers gave Will hope, and then made him feel stupid for having it. they gave the audience hope and then called them stupid for having it. It's like lying to someone, and then laughing at them for... believing you. for trusting you to tell them the truth. for thinking you wouldn't mislead them. I mean really, what were we supposed to think? That you would just lie to us like that? it's not subversive. it's not a twist. It's not a much needed lesson. It's just cruel. it's cruel to Will. It's cruel your audience. It's cruel to your actors. It's cruel.
