I'm not entirely surprised "Sort Of" flew under so many radars, just disappointed. I think it would be a massive hit with OFMD fans if you guys actually watched it.
Like. How even to describe this show? It's a queer comedy where the main and secondary cast is mostly POC and trans as fuck and a lot of the narrative focuses on how people live in those intersections of identity and it's loudly proudly Queer like OFMD is.
The story centers a nonbinary transfem Pakistani-Canadian millennial navigating shitty relationships, a platonic star-crossed soul bond friendship with this queer woman who is also their boss, coming out to their mother, sudden changes in their career, and associated family drama. It's one of the best queer shows I've ever watched and I need more OFMD fans to know it exists.
The humor can be a little fucky sometimes, especially in the first episode, but it's a decent character-driven queer story.
Three seasons, eight episodes per season, 20+ minutes per episode. The show ended on its own terms (not cancelled) after three seasons.
