Arkai - Soul Feels [visualizer] Track 6 from my Soulless beat tape. 

This is one of my fave beats on the tape. Reminds me of Dilla a bit how the chops change randomly in certain parts. Soulful songs are my favourite type of records to sample, so making this beat tape was really fun for me.

Alessandro VasquEz presents: Sul naso del mondo

Alessandro VasquEz has spent two decades shaping dance floors across Sicily, Naples, and Rome, first in house circles and later within hip hop and funk spaces. Now releasing the single Sul naso del mondo, Alessandro distills that long arc into a concise statement that favors groove, restraint, and character over spectacle.

Built on an intelligent funk foundation, the track balances a soulful beat with spacious arrangements. Subtle atmospheric tones widen the mix and keep the rhythm breathing, while the vocals sit firmly at the center. Rather than aiming for clarity alone, Alessandro treats the voice as an instrument. Pitch shifting and layered processing give it weight and dimension, suggesting inner dialogue and motion without relying on lyrical quotation. The result feels intentional and measured, shaped by experience rather than trend.

The single also reflects Alessandro’s background as a curator as much as a producer. His work with South Groove Movement in Siracusa, hosting Italian and Neapolitan rap artists, and the later creation of Rap delle 2 Sicilie with Ekspo, helped establish a dialogue between Sicily and Naples rooted in black music traditions and classic house. That exchange still informs his approach today.

Following his 2024 producer debut with the fully played EP Big Bubble Gum on the English label Kiwi Bear, Sul naso del mondo continues a path that values musicianship and context. It is less about reinvention and more about refinement, a track that trusts groove and tone to carry its meaning. Alessandro VasquEz closes the year with a release that sounds grounded, deliberate, and quietly confident.
