I know I'm in the minority but I love Garrus and Tali together.

My guess is that more people than we think really enjoy Garrus/Tali but some don’t talk about it or mention it really because they know how others can get. But they’re a great pairing! 

I said it before: it’s really delightful to see them enjoying each other’s company in ME3. I like that their character growth allows them to work together with friendship, love and kindness.

I just reblogged and then deleted this when I noticed your tags, sorry! I'm also replaying Andromeda currently (I did all the mass effect games again for the heck of it) and I'm right around the same places/times as you and I can't get over some of this stuff. The writing in some places is so awful and choppy, the conversations don't really flow or make much sense at all. So many pointless quests of zero consequence, etc.

I can see so much potential in it and I wish it had done better so we could have gotten some DLCs and maybe some closure, but Bioware really did drop the ball on a lot in this game.

I personally don't think that the game, with all its flaws, flopped, but it didn't surpass previous mass effect games, didn't become the next big hit, or, as they say, it "performed below expectations", which in the eyes of EA overlords equals failure. And I don't feel it's entirely fair to put all the blame on Bioware.

Andromeda would've definitely benefited from more development time. I distinctly remember several interesting quest hooks, you can stumble upon while exploring, but they just led to nothing, as if something was abruptly cut or underdeveloped.

But, I also think it would have been even better if they just scale down the open-world feature, and axed all this meaningless low stake quests altogether, because, as I said, they only here to stretch the play time. Maybe it's just my personal preference, I don't really enjoy assassin's creed style open world games, I get bored.

For example, one of the coolest thing I've experienced playing the game for the 1st time is fighting the Architect, this giant murder squid robot. It was awesome, and it was quickly ruined for me by being a recurring quest. Instead of this cool 1-time experience (like fighting the Reaper in ME3, but this time actually shooting and dodging) it became just another task you do to satisfy your inner completionist.

It saddens me that they had to drop support for the game, and that the whole ME franchise seems to be shelved (at least the games. there was a book about the quarian ark? did it get released?), because I liked quite a lot of the characters, and I liked what they did with the combat system. The development process of Andromeda was clearly... ugh... rocky (I don't want to look for this Jason Schreier's article rn, but yeah "bioware magic" didn't work). Perhaps they could've make a good dlc with more tight pacing and within smaller space. But we'll never know 🤷‍♀️

That sounds interesting

It was mostly “hm, I’m weeding, and we did not buy egg dye this year because social distancing, so I might as well shove some handfuls of this goutweed in a pot and see if it will turn eggs green.”

It has been unsuccessful so far. But I raided the kitchen cabinets now and found some red onion peels and curcuma, maybe that will work better. I also have red cabbage in the garden, but I don’t think I want to go outside again tonight.
