It's intended to jab some reaction out of the other man - the straight ones tend to panic, and the others are usually set on edge, at least. He doesn't have a real reason for it - he doesn't need information out of the other man, doesn't need him to do anything.

Perhaps he just feels like getting punched in the face. He gets like that, some nights.

"Well, here it goes..." said the Explorer as he stood in his flat, about to activate the vortex manipulator. He had just programmed in a new algorithm for the random setting that made it almost certain that he would end up in a spaceship. Still, he figured he should take the precautions of wearing his goggles and breathing mask, in the off chance that he did end up in the vacuum of space.

Hitting the button, he teleported with a flash of light. Upon arriving roughly a second later, he made a smug grin at seeing that his algorithm had worked. He removed the breathing mask, sliding the goggles up onto his forehead as he looked around the ship... then saw the man standing about ten feet from him. "Hello! I'm the Explorer. And I'm guessing that this is probably your ship."
