An Advanced Civilization Tries to Warn Humanity
Discussions about extraterrestrial life are usually framed through science and astronomy. However, many spiritual and esoteric traditions have also explored the possibility of intelligent life beyond Earth. One such perspective comes from Samael Aun Weor (1917–1977), a Colombian-born esoteric teacher and founder of the modern Gnostic movement. Throughout his lectures and writings, he described encounters with advanced extraterrestrial civilizations, presenting them as moral and spiritual lessons for humanity.
In his work The Message from Ganymede, Samael Aun Weor describes an unusual yet remarkable event that reportedly took place in Ecuador. The following is a summary of that account:
A man who had studied in several Eastern esoteric schools witnessed a spacecraft flying over the garden of his home. The occupants opened the hatch, descended a ladder, approached him, and invited him aboard. He accepted. He was a cultivated and deeply spiritual man in every sense of the word.
Prepared for such an experience, he willingly embarked on the journey. The visitors took him to Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons, where he encountered a highly advanced civilization.
According to the account, the inhabitants of Ganymede possess brains that are slightly more developed than those of human beings. Their pineal gland is connected to the pituitary gland through specialized neural pathways, and the pituitary is likewise connected to the optic nerve. Because of this unique physiology, they are said to possess a sixth sense that allows them to perceive not only the physical world but also the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh dimensions of nature and the cosmos.
They live in underground cities and maintain abundant agriculture. They do not keep domestic animals, as the environment is considered unsuitable for lower species. Water is obtained from volcanic sources and serves all their needs.
Every inhabitant contributes through work. Money does not exist in their society. In return for their labor, everyone receives food, housing, and everything necessary for life. Even spacecraft are held in common. They lack nothing and have no need for money, which, according to the account, has caused so much suffering on Earth.
Their advanced perception also gives them profound knowledge of medicine—not only in its physical, chemical, and biological aspects, but also in its psychological and vital dimensions. They are said to understand both the external and internal anatomy of the human being in ways that Earth's scientists have yet to discover.
Ganymede is a moon that orbits Jupiter, the giant of our Solar System. Samael notes that Jupiter has numerous satellites and describes it as resembling a miniature solar system. He also remarks that he had often observed Jupiter through a telescope, admiring its equatorial cloud bands and its many moons, calling it "a jewel of the heavens."
The inhabitants of Ganymede are said to have originally lived on a world known as the Yellow Planet. According to this narrative, its civilization devoted itself to increasingly destructive atomic experiments until it ultimately destroyed the planet. The remaining fragments, it is claimed, now orbit the Sun as the asteroid belt.
Before that catastrophe, the people of the Yellow Planet faced a profound choice. A great Avatar or Messenger warned them of the coming disaster. As so often happens, most ignored the warning, while a smaller group accepted it and followed the teachings of the wise messenger. They were prepared spiritually and psychologically before being relocated to Ganymede, where they established a new civilization before the destruction of their former world.
The Ecuadorian visitor remained on Ganymede for several days. During his stay, his illnesses disappeared, his vitality returned, and he underwent advanced scientific treatments. The inhabitants invited him to remain among them permanently. He agreed on the condition that he could first return to Earth to settle his affairs and leave his belongings to his brother.
According to Samael Aun Weor, the inhabitants of Ganymede possess extraordinary wisdom and sincerely wish to help humanity. They understand the difficult condition of life on Earth and warn that humanity remains largely unaware of the dangers it faces. He concludes by stating that a great celestial body known as "Hercolubus" is approaching through space at tremendous speed.
