Well Au Long may be the Oriental Restaurant in Bar-sur-Aube but for me it is "how long" is this week. I was so looking forward to my French course on Monday and was there all "bright eyed and bushy tailed" at 10am only to be told that I needed to attend at 2.30 that day, basically "French for Dummies!!" I thought I knew quite a lot of French but think that my pronunciation really let me down. Anyway, away I went at 2.30 and the class was full of MEN!! the majority of whom where from Sudan. However, I met Jony who is from Syria and as we could both speak English we get on like a house on fire. We were the only two in class on Tuesday but today we were joined by an Armenian couple, next week we are to be joined by Vietnamese as well as other nationalities. It's a bit like the United Nations. We are both encourgaging each other and as Jony puts it "we want to be able to speak French quickly but also speak it properly." We are having such fun, and will both be there at 10am tomorrow as it is "conversation" class. As Jony is an Arab he can do that "gutteral R" and he was trying to make me do it class, which causes us some laughs. Anyway I must do some homework tonight!! Not only have I been attending the French Course but it was also my "knitting club" yesterday. I asked for help stiching up the jumper and picking up the stitches on the neck. All the ladies have made me so welcome and I really want to be able to talk and discuss things with them in French. Had a message from my bank - they had a form for me to sign. I did that today. The young lady I deal with has been married between when I saw her in August and now - I think she was pleased when I congratulated her. Right now I am off to add the finishing touches to dinner. Then do my homework for tomorrow. A bientot!
