Anyway I need the parallel between Cas narrating 6x20 (with his mind going to Dean 90% of the time) and Cas remembering "everything" (still Dean) in 7x17

so much daphne/emmanuel content on the TL tonight and i still haven't seen a take about her that fully lines up with mine! i think there are so many good and compelling hcs out there, but a lot of it relies on some really wide extrapolation. like, did the writers intend me to think that cas is somehow legally married to this woman, and has some sort of domestic and romantic relationship with her? maybe?? but i don't believe it, and if i am meant to, they did a pretty bad job making me think that. like, there’s no way cas can be legally married to anyone, considering he has no identification whatsoever, doesn't even know his name. he has no chemistry with this woman besides their mutual concern for the other's safety. they do not kiss, they are barely in physical contact beyond what's required for her safety in being untied. and later in s9 we learn he has not had sex with anyone before april, so that would, i assume, include daphne. i think people becky-ify her, which is definitely fun from a HC perspective, but doesn't feel true. like. i don't think she's crazy, or into emmanuel in an exploitative or even sexual way, i don't think we're shown that either. and i also don't think there's much evidence that she's a fundamentalist either, though again, supremely fun HC to play with. just like, all we know about her regarding religion is that she wears a cross necklace, believes in god, and believes in the healing powers of emmanuel. which like. his powers are observably true. she's not radical for believing what we the audience know to be true of this character. unlike in the s1 ep faith, we don't even have evidence that they are screening the prospective people to be healed, we just know that daphne is acting more or less as a secretary for him, a point of contact so emmanuel doesn't have to like, learn to use email and stuff i presume. we know she sent the hunter (who was fully planning to kill emmanuel) to him to be healed, and being healed literally changed that guy's mind abt the whole operation. we know neither he or daphne balked at dean's insane request that he travel a great distance to help sam, and neither of them asked any screening questions about that either. and ok one last thing is that this 👏 woman 👏 has 👏 a 👏 job 👏 folks i am here to tell you she owns her own house and car, she was unmarried before emmanuel showed up, this is either a very wealthy widow or divorcee or she is, occam's razor, a woman with a job. i think she is so so so much more fun to explore as the woman we are actually presented ! a single successful adult woman who is on a hike and finds someone who needs her help, who she later learns has like, magical healing powers.

anyway if you're still here i assume you like at least some of my ideas about daphne so you can read the fic i wrote where she's something of a central character, emmanuel pov, angel true form at the end, as a little treat.
