what's core theory? it's mentioned in your carrd and I don't know if I've heard of it.

core theory is the idea that systems, particularly DID/OSDD ones have a "core" or original- an alter that existed before the trauma or is a member connected to the personality that existed before they became a system

we do not have one of these. my trauma began and my identity became fragmented at a very, very young age before any one sense of self had a chance to develop, and don't like to be viewed or referred to with that framework.

additionally, core theory is often used in tandem with what we call "host centrism", the idea that the host (most often fronting alter, or the one that handles daily life), is more important than the others or that their needs come first. we are uncomfortable with any of that being associated with our system.

we do not have core(s), our hosts are not cores, and our hosts are alters just as much as the rest of us. we are equals and all our needs are important! we prefer to just be viewed as somewhere in between one fragmented entity and a group of equally important individuals

it’s been forever since I’ve posted but I wanted to check in ☺️ I’ve just finished third year and it’s crazy to think that I’m not that far from graduating!!

I’m working on letting myself slow down. it’s a work in progress, but I’m trying my best. doing my best to romanticize life lately - not hard to do when spring is springing 🥰

things i haven't seen anyone mention about the Polish dracula ballet that really should have been mentioned:

Dracula's boytoys. and you may ask "what?" why yes his boytoys. recognizable by either being naked or having sleeves. they proceed all his entrances, it's amazing

The brides' boytoys. recognizable by having no sleeves.

Vampires are literally unaware of pants that are not skin tight before they come to Londen. No i am not making this up. this is canon in the ballet and i am obsessed with it.

Dracula wants to fuck Jonathan. this has been mentioned but like He really wants to! (okay he wants his blood but like we all know metaphors)

Perfect casting for Jonathan (in my opinion) He falls over in shock at least four times, and every time it's great!

It's also just really fucking good!!! please do yourself a favour and watch it, I promise you will not regret it!!
