While taking a look at the tulips, Morty was about to move on, looking for other flowers. It feels like he hasn’t seen them in years. Earth flowers were his favourites. Well, they didn’t try to eat him whole. And they smelled nice. It felt good to experience something normal again. When Morty stood up, he accidentally bumped into someone.
“A-ah, I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you, oooh...”
The girl looked familiar. He stared at her, playing with his fingers hesitantly.

“Mabel, I have found a game we can both excel at. It is cats instead of horses, and they cannot die.”

HE’D RETREATED TO HIS USUAL HAUNT; a quiet spot at the edge of a fountain and with Freki all too eager to accompany him. He’d been drawing again-- quick scrawls of passing faces, and among them sprinkled foxes and wolves. The place was largely unbothered by foot traffic, so he could do so without much care for an audience---
Or so he thought. The presence at his shoulder, so unlike what he was used to, startled him and in so doing he snapped his book shut. Was it seriously too much to ask that he could just have a moment’s peace?
