Just finished my "Shadow Kiss" re-read and God... GODDDDD... the angst is delicious and I'm crying... there is so much character development in this book... Rose changes so much, watching her get challenged about her core beliefs that "they come first", grappling with her love for Lissa and her subconscious resentment that she doesn't really have a choice and can never have what she actually wants, being terrified that she'll probably go insane because of the bond, yet never telling Lissa because she doesn't want to burden her, finding a solution on how to be with Dimitri, only to have their future ripped away, deciding to use Adrian for his money, knowing she is wrong to do this, but still going forward with it, because it's the only way, leaving Lissa behind, because she needs to do this, for once to choose herself, because she owes it to Dimitri, to do this final thing for him... Lissa's small "You love him more than me"...........................
