Boys from Bonn: Ludwig Wears a Wig part 2 (part 1 HERE!)
Ludwig is forced to confront a truth he’s been avoiding for far too long: he actually looks good wearing one. 😅
Boys from Bonn is a series of vignettes based on Beethoven’s life as a teenager in his hometown, pre-Vienna! I’m making more of them, so please keep an eye out!
“I shall esteem the time when I once more see you, and again greet Father Rhine, as one of the happiest periods of my life.”

"The homo feelings , his mother and him wanting to be a mama"
Anon who had recommended me this book, ik i said i had exams and God i do, But i couldnt Help myself and had alrdy put myself to read this , as ive mentioned i would. it was def my first choice😭😭 cant tell how giddy i was readin this
I think I screenshoted some of the interestin stuff i liked. im half through the book in a day.. will prob finish tomorrow. so 2 parts? maybe 3? i will reblog it to this post
we gotta jump STRAIGHT TO the point of this myth once and for all😒
i think this one was one of those theories I didn't ever had much belief in and fairly to say, even after I read this, I didn't get convinced. Sure, he was closer to Karl , but I think the paralel of him being a one sickly "boy mom"😭 attached to her plain "son" is more accurate. i fail to see the subcouncious homosexuality behind beethoven's desire to help his brothers. their mother died and he was basically the oldest siblin and upheld them financially. he had a strong sense of family. i can agree that his attachment to his brothers might borderline on severe, but not outright gayish.
(this one reminded me how i asked if there was even one letter to his brother haha . its true tho basically there cant be written evidence in that sense)
and even here they call out it has more to do with beethoven's maternal feelings than any queerness. it was also not any sicknes to them. it was the same sickness which took their mom away . when they were just babies. lil kids. i think its cute he instantly went to kiss him all over? like :( thats a devastating way to lose your little brother.
also beethoven desire to adopt (unhealthy) bear mother mentality is more believable bcs it transcends to karl the same way imo. beethoven doesnt transcript any "subcouncious homo" feelings (which would be weird if he did cus thats a child). i see no difference in how he treated karl than kaspar. surely, more authoritive with the kid, but still the same babyin, forgiving, finding excuses for them core . i was afraid there was gonna be strong incest proof, but until now , it only solified to me that Beethoven's lack of normal childhood had made him like this. which i dont blame. it isnt bonderlince incestous.
speaking of his mom. we can tell he glamorizes her a lot. which makes sense why he wants to copy her in that sense. but how so? we know beethoven was unkept, result of his mother alleged carelessness. and the last sentence is disturbing too. didnt she saw the mistreatment of her son? we know that she was a very depressed woman who rarely smiled, but surely she would had tried to stop this . or maybe she was abused and didnt wanna step in anymore? still a weird aspect cant lie. i dont wanna victim blame her, but i think beethoven clinged to the bare minimum of parental affection and thats why He tried to copy mother behaviour so he can send his love to his "line of family" . he prob believed he made them love him like he loved his mama :(
so halfway through the book, the only "worrying" paragraph woud be beethoven refusing proper maids bcs he didnt want karl to attach to anyone else besides him.. hes unwell ugh but karl was the center of his whole life. as they said "his manly love for a woman has changed into maternal love for his nephew" as he didnt engage in romance after getting karl. he prob saw the whole reason to live in karl.
and allat for kaspar to be a loser who wasted his money , try to sell his works, speak w erdody behind his brothers back and tried to issolate his brother for others too?
STEPHAN VON BREUNING MENTION THO🩷‼️
anyway. ill prob share the funny anecdotes with drawings . this focuses on the psychology side only . im not good at articulatin or psychology on my Own. would love to hear otherz more😛😛😛
(eng isnt my main language sorry if mistakes appear)
even now , your comic page of stephan von breuning and beethoven has Not left my mind bcs i will always consider stephan to be Beethoven's only true real friend which makes me emo to think about. fairly, ludwig was hard to bond with and yet ,they were close from childhood till the last days. you portrayed him so gooooood ughhhhh ☹️☹️☹️
YOUR comics are literally the besttt Im obssessed w them and its prob one of the most interesting complex concepts to explore Theyre so symbolic its maddening. (forever a beethoven and mozart lil shipper) so Muawk just to get it out of my system. your work is absolutely priceless
Ahhh Thank you, Anon! 😭💖
