Orion

The New God know as Orion was the second son of Lord Darkseid of Apokolips. As an infant, Orion was part of a pact to enforce a peace treaty between the waring factions of New Genesis and Apokolips. Orion was offered to Highfather of New Genesis whereas Highfather's son was offered to Darkseid.

Raised as the son of Highfather, Orion was taught to control his innate rage and anger, channeling it in a productive fashion. The power of his biological father coupled with the wisdom of his adopted father helped Orion become the most powerful, cunning and valorous warrior either world had ever known.

When Darkseid set his sights on Earth, Orion came to Superman's aid in defending the planet. He also offered his condolences after Superman's friend, Dan Turpin, had fallen. Later, following the formation of the Justice League, he joined forces with Superman once again when Darkseid's scheming endangered New Genesis.

After the Thanagarian invasion, Orion became a member of the expanded Justice League. He was briefly seen in the battle against Amazo and later assisted The Flash in defeating a trio of teh Scarlet Speedster's most dangerous rogues. Orion owas last seen fighting alongside the rest of the Justice League in the final battle with Darkseid's forces.

Actors Steve Sandor and Ron Perlman each provided the voice for Orion with the heroic New God first appearing in the twenty-fifth episodes of the second season of Superman: The Animated Series, ‘Apokolips… Now Part I.’
