The Wicked Rest At Dawn||closed RP
Folding up her newspaper, M sighed through her nose in exasperation. What a mess all her fledglings were causing these days. This was why she hadn't wanted to have children of her own even when she'd been alive. They get their sticky fingers everywhere, they break the fine china, and before one can even open a mouth to stop them, they take a tumble and start wailing alarm over a bruise the size of a pea. Immortality had made her soft from the way things were shaping up.
Silva was her firstborn and the worst child she had ever had the misfortune of meeting and then giving the dark burden to. Of course he was charming and had gleefully accepted her taking short drafts of his blood when she hadn't felt the need to go out and find new prey. Of course he would get injured just after she started to grow attached to the ridiculous man (she suspected he'd hurt himself on purpose) and so of course she would turn him into a vampire. Then he had to go right around the bend when she made another fledgling and ran off to who knows where to lick his wounds.
Her second son was a man named Tanner. He'd been useful to keep around as a daylight errand runner and had been dutiful in guarding M's and Silva's coffins when they had laid to rest. She had never fed from him but had grown to suspect that Silva had due to the man growing frailer than what was usual for a human and appearing afraid when the fledgling was in the residence they inhabited at the time. It had been pity, once again, that had led her to transforming him too. At least it gave him a fighting chance against Silva though he'd left soon afterwards which had been a needed respite.
Vesper had been the final straw for her and had M swearing off children for the remainder of her days regardless of how difficult nights alone became. The woman had been incredibly beautiful and clever enough to match this. People who were simultaneously clever and confident in their ability to attract others at will would be all their undoings, M was sure of it. Vesper had sought to be transformed, claiming that there was something she needed to steal but she wouldn't be able to do it without the gifts becoming a vampire would give her. M half expected her to die in the process alone and perhaps that was why she'd agreed (and also to get the silly thing off her back) but she had lived. What was more annoying was that she had gallivanted off nearly straight away and made a fledgling of her own before abandoning him to the wild.
"Will you stop sulking in the corner like some wounded animal?" she shot towards the couch where Bond was lounging like a particularly sad lion. No, not even a lion. He was more like a dog who'd had his favorite toy swiped from under his nose by the neighbor's cat. It was pitiful. "Are you trying to drive our helper away?" Yes, the helper. They needed another daylight runner since Tanner was now indisposed to such things though he remained around. At least she had one loyal child. He was the one who'd found them their inventor. A strapped for cash young man whom they didn't even ask for a name. All they needed was his skills. They called him Q and that was more than satisfactory.
The day had started like usual for the teen, waking up among strangers from a forgotten party, heading out without a word of thanks and sitting amongst commoners at a cafe. James could always return to Skyfall, but honestly, what was left for him there but the old man who gazed at him with pity? Sighing, James counted the few pounds to his name. He could treat himself to some coffee to wake up. The empty seat across from him was the only one remaining, so maybe he would meet someone interesting.
Q was having a very stressful day that he wanted to forget about as soon as possible. There were more agents underfoot than normal in his branch needing to be outfitted for simultaneous missions, more equipment was being tested than usual, and to top it all off, there were meetings every day of the week for all of the branch heads to review their quarterly progress. So he decided to get out of the building for a while and treat himself to a nice cup of tea for a change.
Stepping into his usual cafe, his heart fell a bit at seeing it so full and he looked around with dismay. Of course his luck would make it so that he couldn't have this. Sighing, he was about to turn and try another one when he saw a table that looked empty. Silently thanking his good fortune, Q squeezed his way through the crowd and was pulling out the chair when he noticed that one of the seats was already occupied. "Oh," he said, his surprise evident. "Sorry. Er." He was always a bit awkward around teenagers. "Is this seat taken?"
Rugby practice always wore James out but he was glad to be part of the club at school. He had a bloody knee today, but things like that happened too often for it to be alarming. Looking up to the stands, he wondered if the boy who always seemed to be studying there during their practices was there. It was nice to have at least one person sitting in the stands, even if they weren't necessarily watching.
On days when it wasn't miserably cold, Oscar liked to study outside. The stands were covered ones and he could tuck himself up in the wooden corner and get his work done. The library felt too stuffy for him so it was good to be out in the open air. Or it was until the open air snatched away the papers he'd been reading and sent them scattering across the stands.
Cursing under his breath, Oscar chased after them and managed to snatch three of them before the forth fluttered off and away. He rushed to where the rails were and saw it fall towards one of the boys just getting off practice and offered them a tentative smile. "Um, hello!" he called down with a small wave before pointing at the paper. "That's mine. Could you...er, could you please hold onto it for a moment? I'll be right down to get it!"
It was rarely Alfredo felt so much like being alone, but the young teleport found himself wishing just that. Thinking of the most isolated place he could, the Grand Canyon. Only to find serious men in suits staring at him very angrily when he arrived there with a loud popping noise. "Did I interrupt something." His voice with a slight Hispanic accent, the 18 year old seeming far less afraid than he should have of the guns around.
Blind for the Rest
It all began with Rich smoking outside the office where they recorded audio books. Sometimes he thought if he didn't be there, what would happen then, maybe an easier life.
But he heard some confidential information between the mafia. Why were they even talking there?! Somehow MI6 got hold of him. They brought him under their wings and Rich was happy about this. He didn't know into which person he stumbled, due to the blindness.
"Soon your... agent will be there.. He will protect you.. It's all going to be fine.." A nice female voice told him and Rich seeked comfort in that. "Thanks.." He smiled and continued to wait patiently. He was safe in here...
