I rarely show my face on here, so I thought it would be a good time to pop in and say, "hi!" 🙂👋 In case you are new here, my name is Tom Windeknecht (pronounced: Wind-uh-connect). I’m a photographer, content creator, and stop-motion animator. I live in the beautiful desert of Yucca Valley, California. I'm only minutes away from Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs.

Before starting our work on the next task for our stop-motion project, our tutor Helen showed us the 1st video in this post. I had actually seen this before in the previous unit, BA1a, I found this extremely informative and really gave me an idea of what it’s like being a stop motion animator on a large feature film, like Laika’s Kubo and The Two Strings. I also found this other video, also done by the Oscars, I’m in love with the puppets, I would love to be a part of that making process as much as being an animator, maybe even more. On my foundation last year I specialised in 3D and did a lot with puppets, I even did a beginners course at a puppet theatre every Tuesday. My interest in puppetry goes perfectly with stop motion animation as I love bringing my designs and creations to life. I can’t wait to start the next project and design our own character, make our own armature and puppet for a stop motion animation, I’m so excited to get back to making 3D models.
