Plot :- Headcanons on Smoker becoming a Strawhat!
A/N :- This is from an au built of mine and my best bud so this was pretty fun, gives him a bit more depth and character build I & some others, with he could have gotten, open ended-ish, could make a part 2 if wanted lol, Enjoy!!!

🌪️ A good speech, a burning hatred both shared and fueled that day they get stuck in the sea prism cage in Alabasta
🌪️ Unspoken agreement to beat and bring the twisted Warlord to justice... More so justice on his side
🌪️ Smoker after being forced to take the credit for bringing Crocodile in had rubbed him the wrong way far to much, along with the strawhats words of promise to bring him down
🌪️ This wasn't Smoker's bring in, just another cover story by the Navy to make people feel secure by their actions, but it wasn't the Navy, it was pirates, a pirate...
🌪️ "HEEEYYYYY, SMOKEYYYY!!!"
🌪️ The lovely place of Water 7, his guess was as good as any after he even got a glance at their ships condition
🌪️ Not that it was particularly easy to say he wanted to join, it was more of him just following them around while Luffy yapped like they were old friends
🌪️ The rest of his crew? All tried to leap (or run) from the smoke user, though Nami was more keen in trying to talk sense into Luffy... That didn't happen
🌪️ Since he never seemed to be far, the nagging and bickering between Usopp and Zoro seemed to grow ever larger each time
🌪️ Was there a turning point? Oh absolutely
🌪️ Usopp getting beaten by Franky, he helped patch the sniper up and watch him while the rest went and delivered a grade A ass kickin
🌪️ Though Usopp bout had another heart attack when he woke up to see Smoker next to his bed
🌪️ "Quit yer screamin, I'm not gonna do nothing to you."
🌪️ Sits and watches how Usopp essentially leaves the crew, he doesn't say anything about it though, he says it's not his place too
🌪️ Luffy out right afterwards inviting Smoker to the crew, especially after hearing about Robins cryptid message
🌪️ From trying to keep Franky from being taken, to going with them to Ennies Lobby
🌪️ CP9 and Spandam finding out his treachery not to long after Sniper King lit the Government flag in flames
🌪️ Helping save Robin and Franky while fighting the ones he used to be sided with, seeing how dark they truely get when one gets more power
🌪️ From then on he was with them ever since, granted the partial dislike from Usopp after his apology, wasn't helping when Franky was essentially saying that that's what he was
🌪️ Now what about the crew dynamics you may ask?
🌪️ With Luffy, he more so is on his case about how backwards he is being a captain, but he does care for him, he just doesn't show it in a traditional sense till after the 2 years
🌪️ He'll sit and converse with Nami, about their budgets and overall maintaining a relatively good balance
🌪️ Only really talks to Sanji about meal plans and prep, he can't stand the curly browed blonde for long with his actions towards women, but he does respect him
🌪️ Zoro and him are always budding heads, joined in when calling him mosshead, literally only ends up calling him that unless he's dead serious
🌪️ Usopp and him are on the fence, I mean how do you talk to someone that you replaced for a bit and now are on the same crew? They hold a conversation well but it's stiff, all that helps it for them is time, he does enjoy some of his farfetched tales tho!
🌪️ Respects Chopper and enjoys his company, he doesn't outwardly show it, he just feeds into his sweet tooth at times and helps make sure he's got what he needs (he also has him join in for his nap lol)
🌪️ They get along pretty well! Having some rather interesting conversations over drinks or just talking about good books as of late. Robin is grateful of Smokers help back at the Ennies Lobby, they've got one another's 'ok in my book' stamps
🌪️ Good to share a drink with Franky, but he really can't be around him long, Smoker is an odd opposite for Franky, but they both enjoy a good meal and break after some hard work
🌪️ Can tolerate Brook till he's asking about seeing panties, he can't stand it when he does it. He understands the trauma he went through with being alone for so long, so he does hold a conversation with him for very long, but it's enough to have Brook being thankful
🌪️ Jinbei (when he joins lol) both of them being the ones to keep everyone together, making sure everyone's got what they need. Both of them reminiscing about their old positions and just some inside talks that they have about the navy (granted this is post time skip)
🌪️ Still in the pre-timeskip era, Smoker deals with more than he would have bargained for, but he chose to join them, he chose to go through the gut wrenching truth the day they were sent flying
🌪️ After the next 2 years and they meet again though? He'll be different, he'll be ready, he'll be a pirate, the Strawhats White Smoke Smoker, this time, he'll be whatever they need
