This is so cute MY HEART
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The doorbell of your apartment rings and you look up, a happy smile spreading across your lips. It must be Winwin! I was so focused on my work that I didn’t even notice… You walk out of your kitchen and to your front door, swinging it wide open.
Sure enough, Winwin stands there, an equally happy smile on his face.
“Morning, [y/n]” he says cutely in his accented Korean.
‘Hi Winwin!” You step back and let him into the house. “I was cooking, sorry! I lost track of time…”
“It’s okay,” he says, “it smells good.”
“Want to go to the living room?”
Winwin nods and leads the way through your house, familiar with his surroundings. You smile at his back, remembering the first time you met.
—————
Once Winwin debuted with NCT, his company looked for a foreign teacher to help him with his Korean, Somehow, your application was the best, and you were set up with Winwin. Things were slow at first, mainly because of his limited vocabulary and your nonexistent Mandarin skills.
But slowly, Winwin opened up to you and talked freely. He didn’t care about his accent or his little mistakes, and he would talk non-stop. You moved away from meeting him solely at the company buildings, sometimes going to libraries or coffee shops in Seoul.
Gradually, he started stopping by your house regularly, saying that he wanted to get more practice in Korean. Your structured lessons from textbooks gradually lessened and disappeared, being replaced with casual conversations. And throughout that whole time, you and Winwin became closer and closer.
That was a long time ago. By now, Winwin didn’t need a tutor in his Korean. That was a fact that you and Winwin both new, but never brought up. He kept coming to see you and you didn’t protest.
————–
“So, what brings you here today?” you ask, sitting down on your couch.
Winwin sits on the floor by your feet, leaning his head on the cushion by your legs. “I just felt like coming. I didn’t even bring my books.” He laughs and looks up with you. “I could use some time away from the dorms.”
“That’s cool with me,” you say. “Did you learn anything new since the last time we met?”
Winwin blushes, and you turn your head to look at him. “Ahh, well…”
You sigh and poke his cheek. “Did you let Ten and Johnny teach you more bad words? Or was it Haechan?!?”
“No!” He sits up and looks at you, laughing a little. “Nothing like that.”
You lean back and cross your arms across your chest. “Then what is it?”
“Well…” he begins, “it was something that Ten and Johnny did teach me.” You begin to protest but he shakes his head. “Nothing like that!”
“Fine, fine. Just tell me.”
Winwin takes a deep breath and begins in stuttering Korean. “Well, there’s something I wanted to tell you that you never taught me how to say. I wanted to tell you about this feeling that I get whenever I’m with you.”
Winwin looks down at his hands, and your heart begins to beat wildly. What is he doing? What is he going to say? Why do I feel this way?
He continues. “My heart gets all fluttery and my stomach feels nervous. But it’s not like when I’m on stage, it’s something different. I’m happy but at the same time I feel like I’m missing something. So I asked Ten and Johnny to tell me what that feeling.”
He looks up at you, his eyes honest and full of emotion. “They said the word for that is ‘sarang’. Love. [y/n], I’m in love with you, and I guess I always have.”
Your arms fall to your sides and you open and close your mouth, unsure of what to say. Your heart drums loudly, and a blush spreads across your face, matching Winwin’s.
He smiles at you. “Saranghae, [y/n]. I love you.”
You open your arms and throw yourself into his arms, burying your face in his chest, inhaling his scent from his soft sweatshirt. “Nado saranghae, Winwin. I love you too.”
