Add this to the tally of every time Dick has been robbed of self-agency or personhood in order to act as an object of someone else.
Extra points because it's through mind control and psychological conditioning. Again. And it's delivered with really creepy undertones. Again.
I find it so fascinating how this is the central struggle in every aspect of his character. It exists in his endless history of sexual objectification/exploitation and abuse, in the way he struggles against the massive amount of control his former mentors exert over him as a sidekick rather than an equal partner, in how he's been used as a pawn by like half a dozen villains through some combination of mind control, manipulation, and leveraging of loved ones (Brother Blood, Deathstroke, Raptor, Spyral, the Court, probably missing some), etc.
It is so neat that the guy with the established bird motif is the one who is stuck in an eternal cage. Idk. I fuck with that.
