I haven’t been posting a picture from England for quite a while so I thought today I would do just that. The photo was taken at Sudeley Castle and Gardens two years ago in June, but it was a very gray, cool, and rainy day and the atmosphere suits an early autumn day like we have today, I think. I love this view towards the chapel of St. Mary in the background surrounded by the beautiful castle gardens. Besides its architectural beauty the chapel is very special because Katherine Parr, the last of the six wives, of King Henry VIII, is buried here. Sudeley Castle is notable for being the only private castle to have a queen buried on its grounds. It is a moody gray autumn morning here in San Diego and I thought this equally gray and moody photo of the main fountain in the rose garden with the ancient magestic trees and the ruins of the oldest part of the Sudeley Castle in the background would be a good fit. To me the romance of Sudeley Castle, located in Winchcombe in the Cotswolds in England, is unsurpassed and I hope my photos (I published another one two posts ago if you want to see more) convey some of it. We are going on vacation this evening and it will be a busy day of work, packing, and tying up loose ends getting everything ready so that we can leave with ease. I won’t give away where we are going right now, since I want it to be a little surprise for you my dear Instagram friends and followers. I only will tell that I intent to take you with me on our journey and that my husband and I won’t go to England this year as we mostly did in the past! Stay tuned the answer will be revealed soon! But this morning I would like to post one more picture from our vacation in the Cotswolds in England last year! It showing the central fountain in the rose garden of Sudeley Castle. It was a rainy, cold day, but that let to that my husband and I had the amazingly beautiful Sudeley Castle Gardens almost to ourselves. It is Monday and I need some peace and quiet to start the week. So I picked this photo of the ancient green and golden yew trees and hedges that were planted 1860 at Sudeley Castle to provide me with exactly that. It is not really an “instagramable” photo, no loud pops of color etc, if you know what I mean, but it works for me.
