Summer Movie - Interactive Snow White trailer
One of the main movies I am looking forward to this Summer is Snow White and the Huntsmen. As build up to the release, Universal released this interactive pop-up video trailer. Hover over scenes and click to get behind-the-scenes and bonus information. Not the most seamless interactive display, but pretty cool and definitely gives more life to the standard idea of a movie trailer.
I am not a big Kristen Stewart fan, but Charlize Theron looks like a bad ass in this not-so-fairy tale. I became hooked when Charlize guest judged on an Snow White-themed episode of Top Chef earlier in the year, and have been waiting in anticipation for the release. I feel like I need to see the Julia Roberts "Mirror, Mirror" adaptation to make a true comparison, but I couldn't get past the cheesy trailers.
Film comes out June 1st
Summer is the time to lay by the pool, go on car trips, and of course watch cheesy television. Some of the strangest TV failures come out in the summer, especially in the reality category. I'm looking forward to Oxygen's The Glee Project and MTV's Teen Wolf (two shows I fell in love with last summer). I'm curious about ABC Family's new Amy Sherman-Palladino show Bunheads - it looks like Gilmore Girls lite.
TVLine has rounded up this list of Summer TV premieres. What are you looking forward to watching?
The Summer of Being a Fan
So I have completed an intense one-year master's program, what am I going to do next?
I'm going to Disney World! ... Well not quite. But I AM going to California. I'm currently searching for jobs and working on launching a career in interactive media, but the immediate goal is to get to the San Francisco Bay area.
In the meantime, I want to celebrate! This has been a crazy year of lots of learning, researching, and developing. I've discovered a new passion over the past year for studying fans and fan culture. In particular, I've studied the new buzzy trend of Social TV/Second Screen as well as looked into the mobile interaction of sports fans. I think it's great how much interaction and engagement fans can have in the things they love.
This summer I want to unabashedly embrace the things that I am a fan of. I'll be documenting my fan experiences and highlighting some of the coolest online tools and experiences I uncover along the way.
Here's just a few things (Sports, TV, Movies, Music, Books - some old and some new) I am looking forward to being a fan of this summer:
Seattle Mariners, Kris Allen, So You Think You Can Dance, Haley Reinhart, Seattle Sounders, The Glee Project, Downton Abbey, The Tudors, Game of Thrones, Snow White and the Huntsmen, The Dark Knight Rises ... and much, much more.
