Meet General Delun, a highly intelligent yet vile bastard. I took the advantage that crows and owls are in fact, enemies in nature. Delun and his men were responsible for killing Jiang’s daughter Peiling, and for crippling the horned owl’s wing. But in a hasty counterattack, Jiang took the crow’s left eye out. Delun still remains as one of Jiang’s most dangerous enemies. He eventually sides with Shangyen as they both want to wipe out the owl and his army once and for all.
one minute i am blessing this owl man the next I am torturing him :,,)
last image is the battle that jiang fought the enemy clan responsible for killing Peiling, resulting the permanent damage to his wing. devastated over the loss of his daughter---not to mention feeling terribly guilty for letting this happen---, and for destroying his honor and nobility for revenge.
A humble yet hard working burrowing owl, Ying is Jiang's personal advisor and scribe. He is at times, the voice of reason. He takes charge in writing letters and documents for Jiang's family, and for military purposes. Ying has worked for Sun Xiao Clan for many years. Despite being a nervous wreck at times, he is a skilled calligraphist and gets letters sent out on time. Ying was hired by Jiang's father Sun Xing when he was a young adult. He grew alongside Jiang as they wtinessed his way into becoming a lord.
Ying also had the opportunity in watching Peiling grow up, letting her write little notes to her father, and teaching her calligraphy. Ying had the unfortunate task in delivering the news of Zhuli's death to Jiang- he still feels awful for not having any power himself in preventing this tragedy. A few years later passed; When the news of Peiling being killed reached the scribe,Ying grieved for the girl's death. feeling disraught for the broken warlord. Over the years that passed, Jiang had become strained from everyone, including Ying. Despite this, Jiang still turns to Ying when he needs help,as for they still carry that bond from so many decades ago.
Once again I like to bring up what happened with Jiang’s right wing. He set out his army to get revenge on General Delun for the murder of his daughter Peiling. In not having a clear mind or heart, Jiang got caught up in the heat of battle. Delun and his crow men mobbed the great horned owl while in the sky, severly injuring his wing as they attacked him from all sides. if it wasn’t for one of his soldiers catching him as he was dropped, it surely would’ve been Jiang’s demise.
oh BOY I had a lot of fun drawing these. I really went cinematic with the second one. hooooly heck.
