The Problem with Ships

Man, something I hate about fandom of all shows/movies are the ships, specifically the grotesque/ilegal ships. How many times I've seen animal characters being ship with human characters (probably from zoophilia mania) or children characters ships with younger ones (I mean it like children -12), sometimes in extreme ways to the point of being just blunt criminal, or children with characters that are clearly teenagers or adults, with the majority being enemies of each other in the shows? I'm saying it because, sadly, I've seen it occurring in the Super 4 fandom.

Although rare, this fandom is not spared of some insane fans who ship the Super 4 with other characters that are crystal clear adults. I've seen it happening mostly with Alex and Ruby, but I see at least one or two with Gene and Twinkle (Gene x Dr. X/Twinkle x Fairy Queen). Like, there's a youtuber some fans already know about that ship Ruby and Sharkbeard, like, wtf? Although the main 4's age are never clarified, we can sure tell they're not adults or young adults, like, in their 17 or 18 (like some sites stated), but minors like, 12 to 16 (only Alex, I think) at maximum. Yet, even if they were young adults like in their 20s, it's still "wrong" in the sense they DON'T even want to be friends with the villains, much less lovers or whatever with them.

Ruby herself is a special case as a few theorized she's about 8-10 years old at maximum, possibly the youngest or second youngest of the bunch yet. And Sharkbeared is about 40s or 50s years old. Man, this is beyond problematic, do you know what you're doing? They're children, and even if they're teenagers, they're still minors, besides, they hate the villains and the villains hate them. I know in Gunpowder Island, Kingsland and other unknown ancienr history inspired islands it's still 18th century below but I doubt they'd want anything like marriege, especially Sharkbeard, Babacara etc. Same goes for Alex and Black Baron, because yes, some people do ship these two, but again I doubt a man like Black Baron would want to do anything with Alex but to kill him, knowing real medieval history, their mindset (Gay = demonic possession) and the characters' own hate dynamic. This is crazy, guys, crazier than the characters surviving their adventures without one injury or PSD!

My opinion? If you want to do the classic "villain-hero" romantic stuff or just do random shipping, the Super 4 actually have only one group to be shipped with, the Negatives. At least they're the same age as the four because logically as clones, even defective ones, they're the same age as the Super 4, and their dynamic, as minimum as it is, is not at all weird and can be modified to fit ya lot's crazy ideas. Or you can just be Poly4 team or create an crazy AU where this idea makes sense. To be fair, actually- if you're not right of your mind, just be far far away from shipping and just enjoy the show, the fanarts or mini stories of it. Ok. this was supposed to be a short opinion post, but I think I was just pissed off and start venting my feelings about it. Anyway, I don't hate the Super 4 fandom for that- they're not the half of what other fandoms are, but when I found out, I was actually quite shocked and uncomfortable. And you?

Hi people ! So I was thinking again about this post and a thought came to me : "What if our gang was in the Ever After High universe ?"

SO

Ruby :

In this AU, Sharkbeard is the famous Captain Hook as well as being the biological father of Ruby.

In this universe, he is a flirt who loves to have a good time with women. And then, one day, one of the women he slept with comes to see him and tells him that she is pregnant. He asks if she is sure that she's pregnant and if she's certain that he is the father. After which he replies that he does not want to be part of her life and the baby unless it's a boy.

9 months later, it's the day of the delivery but something goes wrong and the woman past away just after giving birth to her daughter.

The captain, who absolutely did not want to take care of a brat (especially if it's a girl) decides to abandon the newborn baby in the open sea.

Somehow, the waves did not knock out the basket containing the baby and was instead found by a man named Rubens who decided to adopt the child and named her Ruby.

Ruby knows that she's adopted and was found at sea, but she (+Rubens) doesn't know that she actually is the biological daughter of Captain Hook and had a destiny to follow.

She will go to Ever After High, and she will be at first known by others as the second student without a destiny to enter the school (the first one being Poppy O'Hair).

Ruby is a Rebel. She wants to prove that just because you don't have a destiny, it doesn't mean that you cannot write your own story.

She is roommate with Twinkle.

Twinkle :

For Twinkle, I have two backstory ideas for her :

The first one being that she actually the little sister of Farrah Goodfairy, being the second daughter of the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella's fairy tale. Making her a recent transfer student.

The second one (who is my personnal favorite) is that she actually is the daughter of the Blue Fairy (from Pinocchio). From what I could found on her, she is considered to be one of the most powerful fairies.

This might explain why Twinkle's can't control her spells very well, it's just too powerful for her !

I like to think that the Blue Fairy name her Twinkle after the nursery rhymes "Twinkle twinkle little star".

Here Twinkle actually love stars and constellation (so much that her clothes and shoes would have symbols of stars and constellations on them, same for her wand).

Her favorite color is actually pink and she would wear that color often, but during formal event (like Thronecoming, Spring Unsprung etc...) she would mostly wear a gold and light blue attire (with maybe a few touch of pink).

(Also yes, I know the Blue Fairy is mostly a Disney character, her real name from the fairy tale was actually La Fata dai Capelli Turchini which means the Fairy with Turquoise Hair, and she is very different from the Disney one, but guys it was that or nothing ! I have no other ideas of backstory for Twinkle 😭)

About Twinkle, she will be a Royal. She can't wait to master her magic so that she'll be able to fulfill her destiny.

Alien :

He could be a magical (or normal) bunny who like to hang out with our main group. So much that at some point, Twinkle decided to adopt him as her pet.

Afterall, having a pet seems to be quite common in the school.

(I don't know why but I can totally see pet bunny Alien spending his time drinking tea with Maddie and her little mouse)

Alex :

Also known as Alexander Charming, he is a popular student in Ever After High, alongside his older sister Leonora Charming.

Don't let the last name fool you, he and his sister are not related to Daring, Dexter and Darling Charming

After all, there are many unrelated Charming in the fairytale world.

Alexandrer is a Royal. He follow the path of his father, the very known King Kendric Charming, of being a ruler of a kingdom.

But the thing is, he finds that all the lessons he learns, about how to rule a kingdom and the proper way to act as a prince, rather boring. He would also develop a slight fear of enclosed spaces after realizing that a king never really goes outside for adventures but stays in the castle and rules over the kingdom all day long.

So that it's why his favorite subjects are all sports/knight related. Because his able to be outside and move out. He also like geography- or like they call it in the eah universe, geografairy.

After spending times with his friends and having their every day crazy adventures, he will over times realises that he actually don't like his destiny : he doesn't have the desire in his heart of being a ruler, he was accepeting doing all of this because of the social pressure of following your parents footsteps. Instead he wished to be an adventurer/explorer and dreamed of traveling around the world.

When he had to admit to his friends that he actually doesn't want to follow his destiny, he was scared of their reaction but he also felt like a weight was lift up of his shoulders.

And so, like Ashlynn Ella & Briar Beauty, he would change side and become a Rebel.

(What would be Leonora and Kendric reaction to this ? Idk, I haven't thought of it yet but I'm open to y'all ideas)

He will be roommate with Gene.

Gene :

Guys, I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT GENE !!!! 😭

WOULD HE BE A REBEL ? A ROYAL ? OR A ROYBEL LIKE POPPY O'HAIR ??? I DONT KNOW !!!

I'M OPEN TO Y'ALL IDEAS !!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

(But I may have a little idea)

(As you know, the students of Ever After High are the children of characters from fairy tales, fairy tales that originate mostly in Europe. So what if Gene was the child of a fairy tale character that it's not from Europe ? What if his the child of some folktale coming from the african continent ? Afterall, there's plenty of folktales and legend over there, isn't it ?)

I'm already thinking Halloween thoughts

So here's a silly concept of an idea of yet another fan ep

SUPER HALLOWEEN

Babacara likes Halloween and she got bored of waiting and also no one else last year got into the Halloween spirit.

So she curses the entire world to become Halloween themed aka turning them into monsters etc.

Here's who I think should be who.

Baron:Obvs a vampire, suits him

Rypan:Zombie, because it suits with his grey eye

Sharkbeard:I'd say a werewolf because he has a lot of facial hair already

Dr.X:I'd say frankenstein because that monster was created with electricity

Ruby:Red demon with wings and a tail

Twinkle:She just becomes a witch as well

Gene:A ghost so then he can question his existence as he believes they aren't real

Alex:That knight who has no head but uses a pumpkin instead (I forgot what that one is called)

That's the conecept of an idea not formed fully yet

Super 4 AUs

For a long time, I've been toying with ideas about different alternate universes (AUs) based on my favorite cartoon from the 2010s, Super 4, listing what I consider "silly" and "random", to "weird" to what I consider "fascinating" or "genius" (although I doubt this bombshell is the case). It's just a random list of the AUs I've created so far (and remembered I've created or adapted so far):

Silly/Random AU:

Siblings AU. I don't know, very conflicted about having them as blood-related siblings or just them having their own siblings (except for Alex, of course, she already has a pain in the neck in the form of Leonora). But I'm pretty sure I can make the Negatives their siblings, like, the classic opposite twins!

Super 4 x Miraculous AU (+ Poly4). I imagine it after the introduction of the dragon and pig miraculous that reminded me instantly of Ruby and Twinkle. I can definitively see them and Alex and Gene (maybe even Alien as a mascot or an new kwami) as great miraculous holders, but also as akumatized villains!

Super 4 with disabilities AU. Certainly not silly, but certainly random and a bit confusing, mainly because I didn't even know what a "disability" was at the time, just something "unique" and "complicated". In the case of this AU, the heroes are physically, mentally, or neurologically disabled, be it invisible disability, a disorder or obvious disability. This is it: Alex has the protagonist's syndrome and level 1 autism with ADHD symptons, Gene has level 1 autism and OCD, Ruby has Swyer Syndrome, functional illiteracy, ADHD and borderline disorder (+ blind in one eye), and Twinkle has intellectual disability and muteness (to reference Tinkerbell in Peter Pan). Alien has scent disability and is an albino (making him have bad eyesight and hypersensibility to the sunlight).

Super 4 as children AU. They're technically children/teenagers in the original series, but here they're actually, in fact, CHILDREN below their 13 (maybe, minus Gene and Alien, or I don't know, Gene is a few years older). They all have PSD- life is not easy.

Ruby as a fairy/pirate hybrid. Basically that old theory about Ruby made as an AU. I remember I added growing wings and a fairy wand along with heterochromia in Ruby.

Half-Dragon Ruby + still with a pirate mindset. The reverse of the fairy/pirate hybrid Ruby AU.

Weird AUs:

The Great Truce AU. Negative 4 and Super 4 made an ustable truce after an nearly lethal battle and after the villains "redeem" themselves. It's pure chaos, drama and dark comedy.

The Great Truce AU + Horror AU. Super 4 and Negative 4 made an unstable after Super 4 rescued Negative 4 from Dr. X and the villains "redeem" themselves after an villain era. Almost the same, except the Negatives are bio-animatronic, Poppy Playtime + Frankenstein style creatures. It's pure chaos, suspense, agony, drama and dark comedy.

Evil Super 4 AU. Self-explained title.

Phantom of the Opera AU (in my mind, it's already Rubinkle, but ya lot can imagine your favorite characters into the roles).

Super 4 x HTTYD.... what am I doing?

Prehistoric 4 AU.

Fascinating/Genius AUs:

Mythological AU. Super 4 reimagined as elemental gods/demigods or mythical creatures.

"Those things out there aren't just copies, they're monsters." A horror/suspense AU inspired by Poppy's Playtime, Frankenstein, and Jurassic Park. It portrays the Negative 4 as more than "defective" or "negative" clones, but rather robotic hybrid creatures of humans, proto negatives and other creatures based on a clone structure of Super 4 with gray morals and unhinged personas. Wait... what are these glowing silver eyes?

Super 4 x FNAF x Rainbow Factory AU. Super 4 as revengeful/trapped spirits in a factory that consumes and use rainbow (likely ruled by Dr. X or Sykronior) who also have an harmless mascot place as disguise. Good enough.

+18/Mature Super 4 AU.

Yandere AU.... why are you running, babe?

2000s/2010s AU. Kinda like Modern AU of those very known talented Super 4 artists, but focused exclusively on Super 4 in 2000/2010s era.

And... I think it's the end. Pretty too long for seemingly just "silly" or "fascinating" ideas, hm? Of course it wouldn't be ALL my AUs, but at very least the ones I remembered. I think... I'm really obsessed with this fuckin show!

Shout out to this lil guy who I don't show enough appreciation, capable of saving the super 4 on his own pretty much, smart enough to know Alex wasn't a Rabbit, can knock out more than one troll/human with his body, can drive, first to realise who really stole the Golden Teapot when Baron and his double took it,he may be Small but he's hella brave, smart and has a kind heart.

Now I've realized something rather curious and strangely fascinating about the Super 4 team while I was making the post about grotesque Super 4 ships. They're children. It's all assumptions and theories, of course, but I firmly believe they're minors, teenagers (12-16) at most. I know I already said this in my last post, but that's when it clicked. How didn't I realize it before? I don't know either, my comrades, I don't know either.

They are literally children/teenagers fighting against supervillains who are at the very least mentally ill, psychopaths, or just insane idiots. They're losing their childhood because of this crap and, despite seeming to enjoy their adventures, I don't see why sometimes they simply DON'T want such adventures or just want a vacation. Damn, they already have a job that no adult in their worlds has taken on, and yet they're humiliated, ignored, or congratulated for sacrifices they shouldn't even have to make, even if it's honorable. This also makes me think about… the Negatives. My dawgs, my favorite villains besides Black Baron and Sharkbeard. Does that mean they're children too, being doppelgangers and all? If that's the case, technically we have minor villains who tried to conquer the world and KILL their originals simply because they were defeated in a ridiculously comical way.

If Super 4 were a children's/teen series with an adult twist, those kids would surely suffer from at least PSD or severe anxiety, not to mention the "death" or near-death situations and other aspects of their early childhood (Ruby would definitely suffer more than she already has, as would Gene, Alex, and even Twinkle) besides more entry in their psyche. I don't know, I just find it extremely interesting. It seems like some cartoons from the 2000s onwards simply come with this "if it were adult, it would definitely be darker or bloody" vibe. Like Miraculous and My Little Pony, except Super 4 was made almost exclusively for children below 10 and was canceled prematurely :(
