The first time they woke up next to each other, it had been four months since they started dating, eleven weeks since their first kiss, and 12 hours since their first ‘I love you’s, but before everything else.

They didn’t know about each other's powers or anything that was to come. They weren’t planning their future wedding or considering whether or not they wanted kids. They hadn’t stopped worrying that they were too affectionate in public, but they knew they loved one another, and that was enough for now.

Jules woke up first, not realizing where he was and bolting up, waking Cecil—who groaned and rolled over, burying his face in a pillow—in the process. He looked down at his boyfriend, who was now trying to fall back asleep, and let out a deep breath as he leaned down to press a kiss to the back of his head.

“Babe,” He whispered, smiling as Cecil just grumbled, “Wake up.” “Too early.”

Snorting, he flipped Cecil over, making him gasp as Jules held his wrists down. Jules very much didn’t expect the sudden shock to his hands and bolted backward with an “Ow! ” before rubbing his hands on the sheets.

Cecil stared at him with wide eyes, frozen for a moment before he rushed to apologize, tripping over his words. He went silent as Jules began to laugh and slowly, a hesitant smile broke out across his face.

"Static electricity, right? It's annoying as hell," Jules said as his laughter came to an end, a grin remaining on his face. But before Cecil could reply, he continued, "But I'd live through any amount of it for you."

Cecil made a choked noise, looking down at the bed in an attempt to hide the flush he was sure was spreading across his face.

A finger gently lifted his head until he was facing Jules, who leaned in to press a quick kiss to his lips. He pulled back, just enough to whisper a quiet 'I love you' against Cecil's lips.

And even though it was before so much, they already both knew there was no place they'd rather be.

this time its short and is just dialogue for the @goodthingshappenbingo square: Heartfelt Confession. It’s uh. It’s just wedding vows.

“My whole life, I’ve never really fit in anywhere. Even when I was with those that loved me most, I never really felt like I was home, no matter where I was. Being with you, right from the very start, wasn’t like being complete, it was always like I had...come home. Ever since then I’ve been convinced that deep down I somehow knew that you would have my heart, long before we met for the first time. And when we finally did meet it was like this bright ray of sunshine suddenly darting past me, and I wanted nothing more than to chase after it. You’re my soulmate, and until the day that we’re both nothing more than dust, you’ll be more important than the sun, moon, and every star in the sky combined. I swear to you—I vow, that for as long as you’ll have me, I’ll be right by your side. I’ll be your home when it feels like you don’t have one. And I’ll never let you feel like you aren’t loved. Because you are, more than I could ever express in words.”

“I think whatever godly creature there is thought it would be really funny if I met you and just clicked, immediately. I’m not really the type of person who believes in like...opposites attract or things like that, but somehow, even with all our differences, I’ve never felt like there was a more perfect match for me. Who knows, maybe that’s just because you can best handle my special brand of crazy. And maybe this is the part where I’m supposed to talk about how I’m becoming part of a family, but I’m already a part of it. I watched it grow from just a few people to more than some of us can even handle, but through all of that, you were always….right there. I’ve always thought the concept of vows, and weddings, in general, were kind of dumb, you’re the first person to ever make me want anything like this. I promise you, I’m never going to stop working to make sure that you don’t regret marrying me, and that you’re never, ever going to feel like no one wants you.”

UM. OOPS. (more pre-story superidiots stuff!!!!) 

This is for the first square of my New @badthingshappenbingo card that i got bc im a dumb adhd gay who lost interest in her last one!!! the square was “dying in their arms” and im going to be murdered for writing this.

Cassian had always known he was a monster. For his entire life, he had been told so by everyone he’d ever met. When he was young, he tried to fight those preconceptions—he didn’t want to be one—but years of hearing it led to him accepting that he was, and that couldn’t be changed. Even if he tried and tried and tried, he’d always be a monster.

On the day that was proved to him, he had woken up with an anxious feeling that had just intensified as the day went on. By the time the sun was setting, he was on edge, jumping at every sound. He really should have known that it was a recipe for disaster.

Analia fell asleep early and Vincent had curled up with a—almost definitely stolen—book, so he slipped away into the forest with ease. He had just wanted to clear his head of that awful foreboding feeling, but of course, nothing could go as he planned, could it?

It almost worked, too. Almost.

But then a branch snapped behind him, and he knew—he just knew—that somehow his mind had been preparing him for this all day. Immediately, he grabbed onto the closest piece of glass let it shatter in his mind. When he sent it towards the source of the sound, he did it so fast that it was there within seconds.

It was only when a startlingly familiar gasp came from the same direction that he actually turned to look, and he immediately regretted everything.

Because standing there with a large piece of glass embedded in his stomach was Vincent. His eyes were wide, and a whimper escaped his lips as he collapsed to the ground.

Cassian moved over to him, sitting down as his mind raced, trying to figure out what to do.

"I'm sorry—I didn't mean to—" He stumbled over his words, feeling like his throat was closing up, and moved to take the glass out before chastising himself beneath his breath as it just made the situation worse.

But Vincent just moved to lay on his lap. He whispered, nearly inaudible, "It's—It's going to be okay." and brought his hand to Cassian's face. Cassian put his own over it, gripping it as panic continued to fill his mind.

Christ, Vincent was bleeding out and yet somehow managed to be more articulate.

Suddenly realizing the only chance he had of helping was to try and stop the bleeding, Cassian moved his hand away from his face to hold the wound.

Except the moment he pulled it away, Vincent used his other hand to put it back, his eyes filled with a pleading look. His—terrified, hurt, dying—friend laughed weakly, tears gathering his eyes.

"Please don't leave me," Vincent whispered, making him nod silently.

Cassian knew he was a monster. And he really should've known it was only a matter of time before the people he cared about learned that the hard way.
