A few years later when she realizes her Jiu-mei is the little boy that head disciple Yue Qi was looking for, she can’t decide what to do. Jiu-mei says Yue Qi refuses to explain why he abandoned him. Would this make things better or worse? Eventually Shen Jiu finds the flyer on his own, and he doesn’t know what to think.
Sometimes I like imagining an asexual Qing Jing disciple who just doesnt get what the fuss is about with SY.

And then he meets Shen Yuan directly and is just fascinated. Like, the wife beam is not even romantic in this case, he just goes blorbo mode. He writes a paper about his relationship with LBH (kinda an essay-like approach to The Regret of Chunshan) and LBH's like "finally someone that can hang out with Shizun besides Shang-shishu that doesnt wanna steal him from me, yet appreciates his gracefulness and admirable traits!"
