stormpilot fluff! ft. rey as finn’s supportive best friend and leia as poe’s protective yet supportive mom :-)

I am so on board with Poe constantly flirting with Finn without even realising what he’s saying

Like at one point I am certain they were talking about Poe’s old jacket

and Finn was insisting it looked better on Poe than him

and Poe says something along the lines of ‘It would look better on your bedroom floor than on me’

and Finn instantly blushed

Poe has no idea why Finn is blushing

then it sinks in

oh shit did he just say that

and he goes to Leia

“General I fucked up!”

“Tell me something I don’t know.”

He basically whines to Leia about how he may have made a very inappropriate comment which is borderline sexual to the man he has a massive starkiller base sized crush on

and she just laughes

this bitch

is a hopeless gay

and she waves him off muttering something about “Luke being just as hopeless”

meanwhile Finn has run off to Rey to ask her if it means anything

and she (being the naïve sweetheart she is) thinks nothing of it

“I’m sure the jacket isn’t that important”

“Rey its the one he mended”

“Oh the one you cried about to me because he’s so multitalented?”

“YES THAT ONE”

Leia and Rey have weekly chats about their useless gays™

anyway at one point they bump into each other again

and they’re both flustered and very much the best of the useless gays

and Finn’s absently rubbing his shoulder and the patched up area where he got sliced by the lightsaber

and Poe of course noticed this and asks if he’s happy with the patched up version

because he wants to ask if Finn is ok and if the scar still hurts but

how to??? conversation???

and Finn starts to stutter out thanks and Poe starts to stutter out a sorry for asking about your injury

and they both take a step closer to each other

and realise that oh shit he’s really close

both Poe and Finn can hear their internal Leia/Rey voice screaming at them to kiss

and so they both lean in 

and Finn’s so gentle and kind

but Poe is almost desperate to deepen it 

and so they end up making out passionately in the middle of a resistance hallway

when they finally break apart they have the biggest smiles in the world on their faces

“FUCKING FINALLY”

they both turn to see Leia looking smug as fuck and Rey just giving them a knowing look

they just giddily laugh it off and turn to each other, kissing one another again

Can you do some Leia headcanons in memory of our princess??

oh god this made me so sad just thinking about space mum

ok so it is a well known fact that no one can go through what Leia has and come out feeling alright

and yes this includes Leia

lets be honest it is impossible to have your son become a murderer, be killed by your husband, have your brother abandon you and then die and still sleep well at night

there is absolutely a few times where things gets too much for her and she just needs a few minutes to cool down and relax

at one point, she’s in the middle of a meeting and someone says something about Luke Skywalker

and she doesn’t know who it was and why they said it but she feels her chest seize up

and tears blur her vision and for a moment she can barely see Poe looking at her worried, before she runs off

and she’s vaguely aware of her favorite resistance fighter following her but she can’t care anymore, she can’t have a panic attack in front of all these people

so she strides out and almost knocks a couple of people out whilst running, but she keeps going

she finally reaches her room and she all but collapses on the bed, trying so hard to sob quietly because she’s scared that someone will hear her

she doesn’t dare look at the picture of Han on her bedside table because she knows if she won’t be able to hold back her cries

she hears the door to her room open and she looks up to see Poe standing at the foot of her bed, completely afraid

because the general is this strong, beautiful leader that everyone looks to

and if she doesn’t have a chance of being alright after all of this, no one does

and the general sees a young Han in Poe, the suave, trigger happy flyboy who only really listens to friends

and she can’t help it

she just sobbs

and Poe’s next to her in an instant comforting the woman he’s seen as a mother figure since he was 15

and lets her cry into the jacket she gave him

and before a while she starts mumbling between the sobs, talking about how ‘everyone is gone’

her planet, her people, her son, her husband, her brother, her resistance.

she knows that most people in the command center won’t come out alive and that scares the shit out of her

she feels constant guilt that some fighters don’t come back

because that’s on her

she organised this

she made the resistance happen

and it needed to happen because of a person SHE raised

and all of this pent up guilt comes out and she can’t hold back anymore

by the time she’s finished, Poe has already tucked her in and given her a kiss on the forehead

“Poe i’m fine let me get back to the command centre”

“With all due respect General, cut the crap”

over the next few days, she notices Poe hovering slightly, making sure she’s alright

and she can’t tell if she likes it or not at first

until the next time she feels a panic attack coming, and he stops it before it arrives

and she eventually gets used to her trigger happy guardian anger following her around base like the loyal son commander he is

the funny thing is, she feels like he comforts her more than anyone else could, after Han that is

and because she knows she can trust him, she actually tells him about her stress

and the panic attacks go down

and she sleeps a little easier knowing that her trigger happy flyboy will always be there to comfort her, as Han or as Poe

either way, they care for her, and that’s all she needs

Rey Headcannon

Rey is touch starved

So basically, when someone lives alone on a desert planet for years, they tend to not, ya know, hug

So when Finn holds her hand for the first time her reaction is basically

What??? Is??? This???

She doesn’t realise that NO REY THOSE FEELINGS IN UR STOMACH ARE GOOD

And she gets a bit freaked out because she doesn’t understand what butterflies are

And so she tries to avoid it

But then the more he holds her hand the more she realises she likes it, and she just feels better in general afterwards, like its a little battery that gives her energy to deal with the day.

She starts to come up to people and just hold their hand, because she wants everyone to feel nice

She starts to become affectionate with everyone, giving little hugs and always having some sort of contact with someone

She once gave Poe a kiss on the cheek after a mission was successful and he giggled

No one ever heard poe dameron giggle

What was that giggle

That was adorable

The first time she really hugs someone, like properly, she almost cries

Caus Finn saw her back from flying, and he ran to her and held on to her like if he let go she’d disappear

He had his head in her shoulder and was holding her so close, fingers tangled in her clothes and he just won’t let go

And rey kind of melts slightly

And doesn’t let go for ages and just holds him

Caus holy shit this body tangle feels nice what is this

And so she becomes that one person that refuses to give tiny hugs and just bear hugs everyone

And she does the proper hugs and shit

Making everyone feel amazing about themselves

And she absolutely doesn’t care about rank because she’ll be damned if the general looks a bit down today be warned leia here comes the bear hug

She holds people’s hands regardless of who they are to her

Friend? Hand hold

Lover? Hand hold

Jedi master? Hand hold

She skips around dragging people by their hands

And of course everyone follows with huge grins because what did the resistance do to deserve this little rey of sunshine

And so her nickname becomes rey of sunshine caus that's what she is

And every time someone calls her that she just giggles and gives them a peck on the cheek

Damnit Rey’s just an adorable person who doesn’t deserve the shit she’s going to go through
