Dany pulled her speeder into Mos Eisley’s gates, well aware that she was about to dip into a chaos, but her business took her there this day, reality having no consideration for her feelings on the matter. Quicker she got the supplies she needed for deep mining core drill repairs, the faster she could put distance between herself and the authorities. Dany didn’t care about the First Order or the Rebellion. Her life was working hard to eat and keep her speeder running. She eased her speeder around to the scavenger shops and set to finding the pieces she needed, working against on-coming headache as the layering of voices in her head grew louder and louder. If she could just get out of Mos Eisley quickly, there wouldn’t be any trouble.
Trouble, unfortunately, found her as she was heading back to her speeder, her head throbbing from the growing din of voices rising higher and higher. Dany tried to focus on Dyson Rakman, the miner whose gear she was working on, but the trick couldn’t work effectively in such a crowded, large city. She could hear the womp rats scratching in the dirt. It was maddening. Dany only just caught sight of a First Order squadron approaching and she crossed to the other side of the walkway, keeping her head down. She mentally braced herself to the shift in the voices, trying to push back, to quiet the darker whispers and calm her apprehension.
There, in the middle of the white armored Stormtroopers, was a taller man, dressed in black and the quick glance his way only flared her panic. With it, came the intense pressure of thousands of words as her small sliver of control broke. Dany winced, trying to filter out the sounds when suddenly, it all stopped. She could hear herself breathing. She blinked and gasped as she opened her eyes. All around her was darkened and the man in black stood a few feet away. Dany couldn’t hear his thoughts and that was when she realized - he was doing this. “I can’t hear you,” she said softly, fearfully.
