RELATIONSHIPS  ↴

2019:02:14 -- after reuniting with RKLISA in december and hanging out with her through parts of january and february, suwoong found himself catching feelings again.  on valentine’s day, he took her to a cafe they frequented back when they used to date in high school, and it was here that he asked if she wanted to try again.  now they’re back together, and so far, it’s been good.

2019:02:MID -- at a social function for the richer parts of seoul, suwoong found out that his cousin, RKKYUNGSOO, also received a jade dragon pendant from their grandfather.  the discovery was a bit disappointing, since suwoong used to pride himself in being the “cherished grandson.”

2019:02:21 -- he thought about sending RKYNGSUN a bouquet of flowers for her birthday  ( which he actually remembered this year! ),  but decided against it, since he didn’t want to give the wrong impression.  he sent her a bucket of kfc fried chicken instead.

2019:02:END -- suwoong’s been feeling a bit strange ever since he found out that RKKYG’s dating someone.  hearing that yugyeom got cast in the kt commercial didn’t help much either.  they’re not talking as much as they were before, though it’s mostly on suwoong’s end;  he’s been growing distant  ( and has tragically stopped sending memes to yugyeom ).

2019:02:END -- he has imprinted on RKKYUNGSOO’s roomba, which he lovingly named “little dodo,” and also kyungsoo’s cat, which he nicknames “mcnugget.”

LIFE EVENTS  ↴ 

2019:02:END -- at his mother’s suggestion  ( after suwoong complained to her about RKKYUNGSOO leaving him at the social without a ride ), suwoong started to take driving lessons from kyungsoo, an offer made by kyungsoo’s mother.  unfortunately, during his first session, he bumped into JISUNRK while backing up.  jisun is okay, and it’s honestly all thanks to kyungsoo that suwoong’s not getting sued.  still, suwoong feels really bad and will start taking her out for dinner / sending her random gifts in high hopes that she’ll keep her mouth shut about the incident.

2019:02:END -- the ambassador’s cup for go, a qualifier for the esteemed prime minister’s cup, will take place mid-may.  he studies underneath his father, and now visits his parents’ place twice a week in preparation for the tournament.  he hasn’t been performing as well, though, since he’s been distracted by his relationship with RKLISA and the car boink with JISUNRK.

2019:02:BGN -- he started using his snapchat a bit more, though mostly just to send DEANRK ugly selcas.

2019:02:END -- there’s an influx of nice aesthetic pictures of him on his instagram.  who’s taking them?  no one knows . . .

what are the most used apps on your phone?

                                                           𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 ,

        one flaw he has  ( and he would argue that he doesn’t have many )  is that he’s not as tech-savvy as his peers.  up until high school, his parents had kept him on a strict schedule that barely left him with any free time—and this so-called “free time” was usually spent catching up on his studies.  needless to say, he didn’t have time to spare on social media, save for the occasional weekend instagram updates.  nowadays, he has a bit more freedom and thus, a few more apps.

        “messaging apps like kakao are the ones i use the most.  followed by instagram and this go app where you can play against people from around the world.  best thing about it is that i’m anonymous, so i sometimes go into the ‘master’ category and beat all the top players there.  i’m kind of a phenomenon, ‘cause y’know, no one really expects a pro player to be on a go app.”  for a moment, he scrolls through the pages on his phone, peeking into the various folders that sort his apps by category.  “i also have picture editing apps.  twitter, snapchat.  don’t use those much, though, but feel free to follow me, regardless.  oh and, the public transit app, so i don’t miss the bus.”

Would you ever do anything against grandfather's wishes?ㅎ - ㅎ

                                                            𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 ,

        “my grandfather is a reasonable person.  if he makes a demand, even if it doesn’t suit me at the time, it’s likely for my own good.”  he pauses briefly, the light in his eyes becoming somewhat distant.  his grandfather hasn’t asked him to do anything appalling—but perhaps that’s because he doesn’t tell him much.  his parents tend to know everything, as suwoong is the absolute worst at lying to them, but his grandfather?  he rarely sees the old man, and when he does, he only speaks of his successes.  “if he were to ask me to . . say, for example, break up with lisa.  would i do it?  mm . . depends on his reasoning.  given a good argument, i would—perhaps not immediately, but eventually.”  now, if it were his parents, it would be a different story.  they know what’s good for him more than his grandfather does.  he’s also more loyal to them.

Would you ever date a guy?

                                                             𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 ,

        “i’ve never thought about it.”  and that’s the truth.  he can’t recall an instance where he ever thought of a guy any more than a close friend.  but—and this is a rather strong but—he has considered kissing a guy before.  one of his friends back then had expressed their interest in other men, and as a singular thought, suwoong had wondered what it’d be like to kiss him.  “—but would i ever?“  there’s a rather amused glint in his eye as he leans forward.  “if he can catch my attention, i’d consider.  but between you and me, no one can catch my attention better than lisa can.”

what do you find most attractive in a person?

                                                           𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 ,

        “their natural charisma:  people who can really draw attention to themselves without effort—the ones who make you think ah, i really want to talk to that person.”  there aren’t many people out there who can capture this charming vibe to such an extent, and for some who do, it feels unnatural.  

         he wonders, albeit briefly, how he presents himself to others.  surely, he’d check the charismatic box, but is it the natural charisma he speaks so highly of?  he hopes so.

moved out of his parents’ place and into an apartment with renjunrk.

started teaching go classes geared towards the elderly and young kids.

got blackout drunk for the first time and regretted it.

2017 -- after several years of not being on social media, suwoong finally logged back into his instagram. he was pleasantly surprised to see that his follower count had increased despite his long hiatus - a lot of his new followers were go players from around the world who witnessed him obtaining the 2-dan title after defeating a 4-dan in 2017. he doesn’t post much on instagram and uses it mostly to like his friends’ photos.

made a twitter and still has the app on his phone, but doesn’t use it. his first tweet is a simple “hello” that garnered two likes. he has 12 followers, most of which are ghost accounts.

2018/end -- reunited with his high school ex rklisa, and it was surprisingly not that awful.

2018/tbd -- nearly made out with old friend rkyngsun at a university party that he somehow got pulled into; doesn’t want to bring it up with her, thinking that it would only make things awkward between them.

2018/end -- started going over to rkkyg’s place to watch naruto.

his relationship with his parents, particularly his father, has become less stressful since he moved out. he visits them every thursday for the weekly go match against his father and the designated “family meeting” time.

suwoong celebrated his birthday on january 20th and is now 23 (kor) years old!

suwoong is incredibly meticulous when it comes to following a schedule. he wakes up at 8:00am every day, and is generally in bed by midnight.

and yes, he does study go for 22hrs a week. it’s pretty much his job.

ANTICIPATED GO TOURNAMENTS  ↴

will play in small local and national tournaments various times throughout the year.

scheduled to play in the ambassador’s cup, location south korea, a qualifier for the revered prime minister cup. late spring. he will be fairly stressed as the tournament date draws closer.

if he qualifies via the ambassador’s cup, he will participate in the prime minister cup, location south korea, in mid-fall.
