Mutant Year Zero opinion
Well, this will be my first post where I write a lot, and it's more of an opinion than anything else, about a particular game.
Yesterday I finally finished Mutar Year Zero, after several weeks I could finish it. I didn't finish it with everything, I missed some artifacts, I think just one, and a poster or two, I had 4 out of 5, but I finished it, I reached Eden. And I can, after so long, say it's really a great game.
Yes, it has one or things that bothered me, some minor bugs, which rarely affected the gameplay, and that for some reason the character of Dux was unplayable! Every time I used it, with any weapon, he failed to shoot, having his abilities and weapons of long or short reach, he always failed, regardless of the enemy, the place, and level, he always failed, which was a shame because the first two days I played the game, didn't happen at all, I liked the character very much. But from there on, everything incredible.
The gameplay is amazing, from the open world style, the central idea of combat as something stealthy, ambushes and the continuous idea of eliminating in the most silent way, enemies away from their "herd", It always seemed great, I rarely got to feel that it was annoying, but this feeling got way soon enough because of the variety of enemies and what this represents. Because the continuation of the main objectives takes you to interesting places and enemies, but those extra places, and the secondary objective that I found (because I only found or remember one, a secondary objective as such), were more than interesting, from going in search of the key that one of the brothers of the sects of the game asks you for, or the group of hunters you find, who had a robot inside what looked like a barn, and you as a player, has to be able to sneak in and reconfigure it to eleminte everyone, and with everyone I mean EVERYONE, no one escapes from the robot.
Something I really appreciate, is that unlike most current independent games, scenarios or places, was not generated by the computer randomly, but were scenarios that had been carefully designed for a goal which you could take different ways. And do not get me wrong, there are many games that I enjoy with this feature of randomly generated scenarios, but I missed careful designs of such incredible places.
Finally, I would like to talk about an aspect that I loved about the game, and for the only thing I would have liked it from another perspective, in first person maybe, but I understand it would break the game. What I mean are these environmental stories, these skeletons that have perished in the middle of an action, which were always interesting. They are those moments where I most enjoyed exploring.
So I can finish, with what would be my opinion on a great game, which fortunately I could try with Xbox Game Pass, I hope to buy the game soon, and so finish it with everything, artifacts, posters, and weapons at 100% So if you see it in the digital store of xbox or psn, do not hesitate to buy it, it really is a gem of a game.
Thanks for your time reading this.
